WHY A TEACHER?
I think I have the vocation to teach, although youll have to work so much more time than
in a part-time job, its really rewarding. I love kids and I enjoy their innocence and
creativity. I want to improve my skills to be able to teach adults in a dynamic way.

10 REASONS FOR BEING A TEACHER

1. PART OF THEIR FUTURE
Nowadays, English is the universal language.

As a teacher, you can impact your

students future helping them to learn English as a second language, doing so, theyd
have the chance to aspire to a better career and job, and therefore, youll help them to
have a better professional future. Also, theyll remember you and your advice forever.
2. A GOOD MODEL
When youre a teacher, you have to know that all those eyes are upon you, your
students are checking out your attitude, your mood, and your behavior. In matter of
English classes, your students will always want to imitate your accent, your words, and
they will want to know what you know, so youve to be conscious about what you talk
about in front of them, the way you refer to other people and the way you express
yourself in English when you are with them.
3. SATISFACTION
Being a Teacher is a great opportunity to feel satisfied with your hard work.

When

students succeed in life, the teacher is the happiest person in the world. When the
students learn how to communicate their ideas in English, you will feel complete and
rewarded.
4. SELF ESTEEM
As a Teacher, you spend great part of the day with your students. It is really rewarding
to know that you can be the one who challenge the students to be better, the one who
tell them they can achieve every goal that they fight for, the one who tell them that
they are important in the world, in the country, in the school and in your life. You have
the opportunity to make them feel loved.
5. GIVE OPPORTUNITIES
Regardless the career your students could choose in the future, teaching them English
as a second language, youre giving them the opportunity to work helping others to
learn, youre giving them the opportunity to have two jobs, and youre giving them the
opportunity to understand others needs and help them. Maybe they will be able to
travel and open their world visiting different countries and cultures.

6. DIFFERENT ROLE PLAYS

A Teacher actually becomes into a parent, a guide, a friend, a coach, which means you
have to advise, love and teach not only English but life lessons. You will have fun with
your students and you will be able to help them in their problems at school and

sometimes at home. Sometimes you will have to amuse them, leaving your own
problems out of the classroom.
7. TAKE OPPORTUNITIES
Being a teacher gives you the opportunity to have an extra job in the afternoon or
evening which means earning an extra income either to pay bills or buy material to
work with your students because the salary of a teacher is not very high; this is not a
problem when you love your profession though.
8. MAKE A DIFFERENCE
When you are a teacher, you have in your hands the responsibility and the gift of
educate polite citizens, obedient children, disciplined students, responsible people, and
to transmit your students the values of punctuality, love, self control, respect, patience,
loyalty, justice, honor, generosity, perseverance and to teach them to pursue their
goals with honesty. This is a two-parts job both parents and teachers, but sometimes
parents are not a good example. You as a teacher will make a difference.
9. YOU LEARN I LEARN
One of the most important things about being a teacher is that you are learning every
time you teach. When you are practicing some topic with your students, you are
actually reviewing and learning new methods, new ideas and new ways of thinking.
There is always something you didnt know. Dont be afraid to tell your students you
dont know something, just be honest and tell them you will look for it, they will thank
your effort and you will learn a lot.

Keep studying and preparing to improve your

teaching skills and to increase your knowledge, youll become a better teacher and
person.
