Many students in the 21st century love technology

and will do anything to get their hands on
anything. Students will have a fully interactive
experience with the interactive white board
software. They will play a handful of math games
that will expand their knowledge. Some of the
topics that will be covered are Counting,
Operations & Algebraic Thinking, Data &
Measurement and Geometry. They will play colors
and patterns smart board game, basic addition,
speed math, counting money on the smart board
and place value game. In the end they will learn
how to use windows movie maker and incorporate
what they learned in these group activities
Michigan common core state standard for mathematics:
kindergarten
K.CC.A.1 : count to 100 by ones and by tens
K.CC.A.2: count forward beginning from a given
number within the known sequence(instead of
having to begin at 1)
K.CC.A.3: write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a
number of objects with a written numeral 020(with 0 representing a count of no objects)
K.CC.B.4: understand the relationship between
numbers and quantitys; connect counting to
cardinality.
K.CC.B.5: Count to answer "how many?" questions
about as many as 20 things arranged in a line, a
rectangular array, or a circle, or as many as 10
things in a scattered configuration; given a
number from 1-20, count out that many objects.
.K.CC.C.6: Identify whether the number of objects
in one group is greater than, less than, or equal to
the number of objects in another group, e.g., by
using matching and counting strategies.
K.CC.C.7: Compare two numbers between 1 and

students will practice number order and sequence

by using decimals, negative numbers and forward
and backward sequencing
students will learn basic addition and basic addition
math facts
Students will practice their counting skills counting
by 1, 5s or backwards.
Students will determine color patterns and
complete the remaining circles
Students will learn work together in groups
Students will learn how to use movie maker with
teachers help
Students will use the interactive white board software
and computers to improve their math skills

1. Teacher will show students how to use interactive
white board software to improve their math.
2. The teacher will break the kids up into groups of 5
and play 5 different math games.
3. Each group has a different game and has 15
minutes each at playing each game, when they
hear the bell they go to the next game center.
4. Each group will have a turn on the interactive
white board or the computers
5. Group 1 will play colors and patterns smart board
game. This is a fun interactive game that allows
the students to determine the color pattern and
select what colors go next.
6. Group 2 will play basic addition. In Jet Ski Addition
players click on the correct answer to power their

jet ski. The speed of the response determines how

fast the Jet Ski will go
7. Group 3 will play speed math. The students will
choose their skill in adding, subtracting,
multiplication or division and then choose the
numbers they want to practice
8. Group 4 will play counting money on the smart
board. The student will Count the amount of
money shown then shoot the piece of fruit that has
that amount on it. The video game format will
appeal to kids of all ages insuring that they have
fun while learning. Attach this activity to your
Smart board money lesson.
9. Group 5 will play the place value game. Students
will be challenged by Robbie the robot to a game
to practice place value. Students enter numbers
on their calculator to indicate the value of each
number.
10.
Once each game has been completed
students will move the next station. The students
will then keep their scores in each game they play.
11.
Students will then incorporate what they
learned by using windows movie maker with
assistance of a teacher. The teacher will ask what
they learned and take pictures of each group
activity.
The student will be assessed based on:
Practicing number order
Learning basic addition
Counting skills
