Description of Lessons:
On going lesson where students will be re-introduced to a method where
they will be asked to use their imagination to help them creatively retain
knowledge. Following this method students will be presented with historical
facts about Johannes Brahms music; orchestral, chamber, choral, and the,
influences hes had on later composers. This historical Information will be
presented over the period of following the information students will be given
a quiz, and allowed to use their notes to take it.

History: Historical Facts about composers
Instructional Objective(s) Criteria:

Students will be given a pencil and paper quiz following the presentation and will
complete the quiz with 90 percent accuracy using their notes.

Assessment(s) of the Objectives:


Students will be asked as a class to recall the story told to them on Tuesday
before beginning presentation on Brahms
Paper and pencil quiz will be administered after presentation
Materials/Resources:
Pencil/pen, a stand to write on, quiz, and a chair to sit in.
Prerequisites (Prior Knowledge):
Student will need prior knowledge on how to read, write, take notes, and
notes from the previous lesson.

Procedures:
1). Teacher will ask students about the 14 words from the story they
were told in the previous lesson. Teacher will tie in their memorization
and encourage students to use their imagination to help them retain
knowledge easier.
2). Students will be presented with information about Johannes Brahms
including; information on his orchestral, chamber, choral music, and
Brahms influences on other composers after him
3). Following the information students will be given a short quiz to take,
and asked to
Accommodations:
Students who can not see the PowerPoint will be allowed to move
closer to the smart board to see better.
When finished with quiz students will move their seats back to their normal class position
and set up for the rest of band class.
