    Forthesemesterlongmultimodalproject,mygroupandIhavedecidedthatourproject
    beaboutelectricity.Usinglinguisticandvisualmodeswewillexplorethehistoryofelectricity,
    thebattlebetweenusingA/CandD/CandtheresurgenceofD/Cpowertoday.TomasEdison
    andNikolaTeslawillbefocalpointsofthehistoryofelectricity.Wewillshowhowinfluential
    theyweretothetechnologywehavetoday.Iwouldalsoliketoexplorethefutureofelectricity
    andalternativeenergysourcesthatmaybethefutureofhowwepowerourhomesandgadgets.
    Theplanforthesemesterlongprojectistogatherasmuchinformationaswecanto
    supportourtopiconelectricityandtopresentitinastraightforward,visuallyappealingandeasy
    tounderstandslideshow.Icanunderstandhowdryfactscanbeanddonotwanttoborethe
    audiencewithtoomanydatesandscientificdata.Itneedstobeeasilyunderstandabletothoseof
    uswhoarenotscientificallyinclined.IwanttopresentThomasEdisonandNikolaTeslaasthe
    BillGatesandSteveJobsoftheirdayinorderfortheaudiencetorelatebettertothem.Without
    theirdiscoveriesMicrosoftandApplewouldntevenexist.Themajorityofmyresearchwillbe
    donethroughtheinternetjustbecauseoftheeasygatheringinformationandplethoraof
    knowledgeoutthere.Iwillalsobecheckingoutthelibraryfordocuments,booksandvideoclips
    thatperhapsdontexistontheinternet.Ifwecouldincludeavideocliportwofroma
    documentaryorothercrediblesourcethatwouldaideinthevisualaspectandhelppaintapicture
    fortheaudience.

    Theplanforresearchingourtopicisstraightforwardandsimpletounderstand.Wecan
    gatherallofthenecessarydatathroughtheinternet,libraryanddocumentaries.Thetopicof
    electricityisonethattheaudiencecanrelatetobecauseitssomethingweallrelyondaily.
    Whetherconsciouslyornotweuselightbulbspoweredbyelectricitytoilluminateourroomsso
    wecanseeandread.Thecomputerswedoresearchonandtypeourpapersonuseelectricityto
    keeptheoperational.Oursmartphonesmustremainedchargedbyelectricitysowecanstay
    connected.Withoutelectricity,lifeasweknowitwouldnotbepossible.Wewouldstillbe
    readingbycandlelightandwouldbeforcedtowritelettersandhaveactualfacetoface
    conversationwitheachother(ohno!)
    Blake,Jake,LorenzoandIwillallpartakeinresearchingwhatwedeemtoberelevant
    andimportantaspectsofelectricity.Thenwewillpickoutwhatpieceswewanttouseand
    discardtherest.AsaguidelinewewillbestickingtosubtopicssuchasThomasEdisonand
    NikolaTesla,howelectricityinfluencesus,thefutureofelectricityandsustainability.Wewill
    determineeveryonesstrengthsandweaknessesandassigntaskfromthere.Lorenzowill
    probablybeinchargeofthevisualaspectsofourpresentation,whileJakewithhisvast
    knowledgeandscientificmindwillbeourmorepowerfulresearcher.
    Thisweek(March915)wewillmeetandevaluatewhereweareatwiththeinformation
    wehavegatheredtothispoint.Thenwewilldeterminewhereweneedtogofromthere.During
    theweekofMarch1622wewillbeclosetobeingdonewithourresearch.Wewillmeetand
    decidewhatinformationwearegoingtouse.DuringtheweekofMarch2329wewillbe
    makingtheslideshowandtypingwhatwearegoingtosay.March30April5wewillbe
    refiningourpresentationandeditingwhereweneedto.BytheweekofApril612wewillbe

    finishingupandaddingthefinaltouches.Iwanttobedonebythispointsothefollowingweek
    forpeerreviewwecantakeadvantageofanyconstructivecriticismandadvicefromProfessor
    Raymond.
