11. Your reaction to and understanding of the work is often determined by your political persuasion, Pick
one of these and tell me how it impacts your reception of this work and how you might view the work if
you were someone else who did not have your experience.
The song was heart touching, the way she describes, the way she felt and tried to interpret her
feeling through song was vary strong. Personally I dont have any experienced like she does, but

the way she pass or spared the song with the pride that soldier did and the emotion what political
powered people had to do was vary strong and heart touching.

12. Give one quotation from the text that you particularly liked or think is important (be prepared to tell
why):
Thought they murdered six million in the ovens they fried the Germans now to have god on their side.
Because every time when we talks about war like Spanish American war, Vietnam war, world war 1
world war ii, it always bother what happen in Germany even though I wasnt there it was a told historic
story.

Reflection paper:
I chose Critical thinking journal for my reflection paper which was on, the song with
god on our side by Joan Baez. The reason I chose is there were many important things included.
It tells the history of America and how American soldiers including the Americans bear the pain
during the war. The particular song was thrilled. The song was sung in the festival where people
were gathering and I come to know that that was the long song ever. It was slightly more then
13-minute song. The wording of the song was very painful and the legend singer was using
guitar as an instrument to support the feeling of song. Personally I love songs especially when its
come to the hart braking, emotional songs. Also, song tells about the humanities dying, which
indicate in middle of song where it says, 1million people were murdered by Germany.
