Student Project

The students were in review mode for the

upcoming STAAR test.
The activity they played was Math
Jenga.
The students worked in group of 3-4 and
in their groups they had to solve different
math problems of all operations.
After they solved the problem, they were
to scan the QR code and check their
answer.
If their answer is correct then they are to
use it to start building a tower.
The group with the tallest tower wins.

Book Review

Leaders Eat Last by Simon Sinek

o The book focuses on why some teams pull together and others dont
o The book focuses on what it takes to be a leader. We all know what type of qualities we
want a leader to have
o In order to be a leader and lead a campus of teachers and students we must make them
feel safe, it is crucial to make sure that everyone on campus is feels like they are apart of
the circle of safety.
o When teachers feel they are fully supported by their administrator they will follow them
into the unknown.
o The book speaks about the military and about how they train for anything possibly that
could happen and how to trust one another. They would follow them into the open knowing
that their is a possibility that they might not live. What do we have as leaders without
TRUST?
o Teachers have to believe that their administrators get down in the trenches with them and
roll up their sleves.

Book Review...

This short video clip talks about the circle of trust and how it is the foundation to having a
successful team.

One of my favorite quotes from the book is, We must all start today to do little things for the
good of others...one day at a time.
o Yes some of us hold the authority or the power but in order to be successful we need
everyones help to accomplish a goal.
o An administrator is only as good as the people they have on their campus.

A team is not a group of people who work together. A team is a group of people who trust each
other. - Simon Sinek
