Lesson Title: Presidential Pets

Motivation: At the beginning of the lesson Shared Reading: (10 min) Use the big book: Presidential Pets by Julia Moberg, I will read the
prior to read the book, I will begin asking two book to the children holding the book so I can point to the pets and show some of the exquestions to the students:

Listening and Speaking:

1. When c or g meets a, o, or u, its sound is /k/
and /g/ which is hard. E.g., cap, colt, comedy,

2. When c or g meets e, i, or y, its sound is /s/
and /y/ which is soft. E.g., census, center,
circle, general, giant, ginger

then use it for students to highlight them in a

reading strategy, students will read with a

Writing:
Write it Down!
(TEKS):110.13.17.A Students use elements
of the writing process (planning, drafting,
revising, editing, and publishing) to compose
text and are expected to: plan a first draft by
generating ideas for writing (e.g., drawing,
sharing ideas, listing key ideas). I will ask
students to write down about their favorite pet
and if they would like to become a President
when they grow up and why.
