Dear Tracey,

Thanks for updating me the discussion that we had in your office. I would be
inserting some additional information within your sentences in parenthesis
Goodson indicated that he has a BSc Computer Science / IS from Rhodes
University as well as a Science Masters. He has been working at Rhodes
since 2000 as Chief Technical Officer and was a lecturer in Electronics (where?
University of Malawi for 9 nine years) before coming to
Rhodes. (Given an opportunity my first option would be to become an
academic as in academic it gives one an opportunity to develop oneself through
research and writing research papers unlike working in the Support where staff
development is limited.) He would like to become an academic at Rhodes in
lecturing either
Physics, Electronics or Maths.
If this isnt possible he would like to benefit from his BSc degree by working in
the Systems section of I&TS (as a System Administrator to harness my
Information System and computer Science knowledge within IT & S given an
opportunity). Goodson also learnt programming while studying (at Rhodes?(Yes
studying at Rhodes University)) and therefore his third option is to become a
(Software Developer to utilize the knowledge that I have acquired) Programmer
in the I&TS Division.
