Weekly Calorie Intake

After keeping track of my calories I became surprised with how high my calorie intake
per day is. From the table I can tell that I dont eat a lot of food during the day but I do eat foods
that are very high in calories. For breakfast I always have the same thing because it is convenient
and it is on my way to school. The same for lunch I usually eat whatever is closer to school
because I want to get home as soon as possible. What I do notice is that for every single day I
had some type of fast food. Unfortunately this is something very common for me I always eat
junk food and fast food because it is near me but also because I get lazy. When I am done with

classes Id rather get something quick come home and start some homework instead of having to
cook some lunch. The only times that I do end up making something to eat is for dinner. The
reason I take pleasure in cooking dinner is because I usually cook when I am done with
homework. So cooking becomes a break from all the work I have done and I like creating
something that will taste good. I usually stick to chicken, and pork chops to cook. When I dont
want to cook I end up going to a fast food restaurant which means I eat fast food for lunch and
dinner sometimes. I know it isnt good for my health but I dont think about the consequences till
I am finished eating. Another thing I noticed is I dont drink enough water. Most of the drinks I
have listed are very sugary and have no nutritional value. I rarely drink water and thats only
because I only reach for juice. Even when its really hot the first thing I think about drinking is
juice instead of water. I feel that my eating habits are like this because of habit. Ive become
accustomed to the foods I eat and fall into a routine repeating some of the same foods because
its familiar to me. If I try new food I feel its not the same or I try and convince myself I dont
like it. I know I could eat healthier foods and that there are healthier options for me. For example
instead of eating a big mac with fries and a sprite I can have a classic chicken creaser salad
(300). Instead of a sprite I can be drinking water flavored with lemonade crystal light (5). Not
just the calories are low but the food has a better nutritional value. A goal I want to accomplish is
to at least change 1 of my food options for something healthy every lunch. I want to drink at least
2 water bottles a day and gradually increase it. These changes need to happen and I know that I
can accomplish these goals because I have accomplished them before. The only reason I didnt
keep going with these goals is because I easily give up and eat whats the easiest and closest to
me. But I want to change my eating habits because after seeing the high amount of calories I am
consuming in a day it really alarmed me.
