Introduction
Today, you will discover various jobs that go into putting on
a play and how they relate to each other.
You probably already know much more than you realize!!!

Task
As a group you will pick different jobs in theatre.
You will create a powerpoint informing your fellow
students of what is involved in the job you have selected.

What are some of the jobs in theatre?

Who is in charge of who?
What is important for a show to be successful?
What job interests you the most?
What would you want to learn more about in theatre?
Why is communication important?

Process
First, take a couple minutes to write down what you know about jobs in
theatre.
Then, discuss with your partners the various jobs you believe are in theatre,
dont worry if you are unsure of what the jobs are.
If you disagree or are unsure of a job bring it up with your partners, ask
each other questions! Disagreeing is where your answers and more in
depth questions will come from!
(i.e What would job A do? Why would A do that? Wouldnt
A do that not B?)
After a few minutes of discussion have a member of your group
record some of the questions/disagreements you have about
theatre.
CLICK THE ARROW FOR NEXT STEP>>>

Process
Next, visit various websites to try and answer any questions/disagreements your
group has come up with.
Now you should decide who will write about which role. (Keep in mind in order to
understand your role you will also need to understand the basics of other roles
as well.)
Here is what I will want from each of you.
A title slide with the name of the role you chose. Include a graphic/picture
that relates to that role.

CLICK NEXT SLIDE>>

Process
On a second slide- I want 6 bullet points. It should inform your fellow classmates of the
following.
1. A very brief description of what they do.
2. Who they are in charge of? (if anyone)
3. What other jobs do they communicate with so they are successful?
4. What you enjoy most about that job.
5. What you enjoy least about that job.
6. Give an example of an issue that could arise if A doesnt communicate with B.
(This one will demonstrate how well youve grasped how your job relates to others. It
will be the hardest point to come up with.)

Keep those bullet points in mind as you do the next step.

Finally, research your topic and create your (2) slides.
The next slide will give you some starting point for
your research.
