Classroom Procedures:
Right when the students walk into the classroom, they will immediately start
working on the warm-up. This is an introductory activity to get into the math mind set
and it is a great review. It may cover the materials posted in the video.
After the warm-up activity, we will begin the developmental activity. We may
begin a new lesson or continue practice on a video lesson. To build on a previous lesson,
I will normally have students work review problems at the board. Students may
occasionally work their review problems in their notebooks. When we begin a new
lesson, students will be expected to take notes- during class or outside of class. I will let
students work in groups if they have shown me their notes. I have always felt that I learn
math better while working together, however, it is very significant that the students have
earned this time.

Procedure Specifics!
Practice:
All practice problems must be written in students MATH NOTEBOOK. This
notebook is ONLY for MATH! I will not collect practice problems, however I will grade
on completion (2 fully completed, 1 partially completed, 0 not done). You must
have 2s on all of your assignments to retake any assessment NO EXCEPTIONS!
Reassessment Policy:
Students must have these things complete in order to reassess:
1) All practice is complete.
2) Corrections made on the assessment.
3) Extra practice is done and checked.
4) Schedule a time with Mrs. Davis to complete the reassessment.
All reassessments must be completed within the term the assessment is given.
Tardies:
All tardies will be in accordance with the PV policy. Be here on time!
Restroom Policy:
If you are going to go the restroom during class, it will be a highlighted pass. You
may choose to go to the restroom before the bell, however only one student at a time may
go and PHONES will be left on my desk. If you can, please wait until you have Social
Studies or English to go since these classrooms are close to the restrooms.
Phone Policy:
Absolutely no phones during assessments! Students may only use a calculator
not a phone! Please feel free to use phones to look up information or watch the video
lesson! Please put phones away during a lesson presentation.
Technology
Students will be able to access their books online at home. I strongly encourage
students to use the online version. There are videos and tutorials that can help students.
Overall, we will be incorporating a lot of technology into the classroom, and students
should be open-minded about the new technology!
Need Help?!
Whenever you do not understand something or need extra help PLEASE
PLEASE PLEASE come see me before school and after school. I am here to help, and
sometimes math is not an easy subject and we need that extra help along the way. Please
make prior arrangements to come see me if you are coming before school you must
have a pass!! I am here for my students - remember that!
