Lesson 1
Concepts:
passing out and returning books
opening to the right page and staying there
following along with the song
Lesson:
Explain how to get and return books. Allow time to page
through and then explain normally we must stay on one page.
Open to Heigh Ho (MM pg 7, CD 1-3).
Explain how it follows.

heigh ho- explaining and performing dynamics

Rhythms for Go around

Lesson:
Warm up songs
Rhythm flashcards
Books- Pajarito- echo sing with recording and then go back and
fix words that need it. Sing with recording. (MM page 16, CD 114)
Heigh Ho- Performing dynamics with piano, then do with
recording and march. (MM page 7, CD 1-3)
Lone Star- Practice verse one with the piano and explain. Talk
about matching our pitch. (MM page 21, CD 1-20)
Go around- Clap the rhythms first. Look at notes and remember
rhythms. Then play rhythms on sticks. Next play sticks while
listening to song. Then listen again and sing along with. Warn of
the repeats! (MM page 12, CD1-8)

heigh ho- Performing dynamics, add dynamics to hellos as
well.
Lone star- getting verse 2 better
Rhythms for Go around, and singing
Lesson:
Warm up songs, add p and f to hellos
Heigh Ho- do with dynamics and listen to their voices
Rhythm flashcards
Go around. Clap it first. Then do sticks and listen to the song.
Next time do sticks with the song without the words playing.
Lone star- focus on verse 2
Pajarito- work on the words, use stop and go sign with
recording

Riddle Ree
Lone star- getting verse 3 better
Rhythms for Go around, and singing, beat vs. rhythm

Lesson:
Warm up songs, add p and f to hellos
Rhythm flashcards
Go around, talk about beat vs rhythm. have them clap the beat
while listening, then play on drums. then play sticks to rhythm.
Next class we will put together and have half the class do beat
and half do rhythm.
Pajarito, just sing, no pronun practice
Lone star- sing through all verses with the piano
Begin Riddle Ree. Clap through first. Then listen and learn
motions.

Concepts:
Practice for written test
Lesson:
Warm up songs, add p and f to hellos
Have words and definitions on smartboard and connect them to
definitions.
Have them in small groups connect them to there definitions as
well.
Then take the test.
With any leftover time, sing.
Vocab- rhythm, beat, piano, forte, echo, ta, titi, rest, verse,
refrain, repeat sign, dynamics, form
