1. Read a book or a chapter in a book and be ready to tell about what you
read. Write the Title on your reading log. Have a parent sign it.
2. If you have a computer at home, go to Brain Pop Jr. and log in with the
username and password gaelem Click on Reading and Writing, then click
on Phonics, watch short vowels and silent e videos.
3. Read your words on the red paper. Write the words in your homework
book. Circle the short vowels and underline the long vowels.
4. Solve the following problems. Draw and label a number line 1 to 20. If you
have a computer at home, go to Brain Pop Jr. and log in with the username
and password gaelem Click on Math, Basic Addition, watch the addition
video. Pay close attention to how to use a number line.

2. Write your words in ABC order. Number your paper in your homework
binder 1 to 26. Write each letter of the alphabet in order 1- 26. Put your
words beside the correct letter.
3. Complete the Tuesday math problem on the back of your homework paper.
Use the Brain Pop Jr. Video on Basic addition if needed.

We work on spelling words in class each day. Please review on Thursday night for
Friday's spelling test.
Spelling Words
Our spelling words have the pattern short vowel (CVC) and long vowel words with bossy (silent) e.
CVCe). Help your child recognize the rule that a bossy (silent) e makes the vowel sound long. To
review these rules, log into Brain Pop Jr, username and password: Gaelem Go to Reading and
Writing; Phonics; watch the video; Short Vowels and Silent e. You can also play the game or do the
activity that goes with each.
