(a) In Act I, scene 2 (Claudius takes the throne)

Claudius is completely driven by logic and power, and is not

sufficiently affected by the death of his brother (if were thinking about
standards).

Hamlet KNOWS that Claudius killed his father, and he is not
happy. Hamlet does not agree that his father had to die for the sake of
the kingdom.

and Ophelia.)
To be or not to be!!! Hamlet is the embodiment of putting up
with life, while Claudius is the embodiment of handling it.
(d) In act III, scene 3 (Claudius tries to pray, Hamlet abstains from
killing him)
Hamlet chooses not to kill Claudius because at a time where
Claudius is recognizing his wrongdoing, Hamlet doesnt want to step
in. My words fly up, my thoughts remain below. Words without
thoughts never to heaven go.

Gertrude tries to tell Hamlet the things that Polonius wants her
to, but they are not effective, because she is scared, and has also
been doing the wrong things in Hamlets eyes.

The people love him, because they judge based on appearance
rather than reason. Hamlet is pretty much just taunting Claudius at
this point.

Ophelia discusses her own death.
(h) Act IV, scene 7 (Claudius and Laertes conspire to murder Hamlet)
Hamlet is not someone that can be publicly prosecuted, because
the public and his mother love him.

Another reference to Cain is made. How long will a man lie I
the earth ere he rot

(k) Act V, scene 3 (Hamlet slays Claudius, dies)
