knownBrookeforfouryearsinmycapacityasAssociateProfessorofEarlyChildhoodEducation
atSetonHillUniversity.BasedonBrookesStrengthsandhardwork,Ihavenodoubtshewill
succeedasanexemplaryearlychildhoodandspecialeducationteacher.
BrookeHebrankisprofessionallyandpersonallyalovelyyoungladywhoisenthusiasticabout
teachingyoungchildren,workingwithfamilies,andcollaboratingasateammemberwith
teachingcolleagues.Brookesstrongacademicperformanceanddedicationtobecominga
professionalteacherwasalwaysevidentinherattendanceandclasswork.Duringherstudiesat
SetonHillUniversity,Brookeconsistentlydisplayedleadershipqualitiesincludingservingasa
memberoftheAlphaLambdaDeltaHonorSociety,theSetonHillEducationClub,andtheSeton
HillUniversityWomensEquestrianTeam.
Brookehasalwaysshowenthusiasmforlearningandopennesstonewdiscoveriesduringour
educationclassesatSetonHillUniversity.DuringtheParentandFamilyConferencingclass,
BrookeevaluatedanearlychildhoodprogramusingtheEarlyChildhoodEnvironmentRating
Scale(ECERS)anddevelopedapolicyhandbookforanearlychildhoodprogramencouraging
familypartnershipswithavisionpromotingdevelopmentallyappropriatepracticeandanopen
doorpolicyforallfamilies.Inadditiontoexcellentwrittenandcommunicationskills,Brookeis
proficientusingavarietyoftechnologytoolsintheclassroom.DuringTypicalandAtypical
GrowthDevelopmentclass,BrookeparticipatedwithMyVirtualChildbyraisingachildusing
onlinetechnology.Throughoutthesemester,Brookereflectedandanalyzedvarious
developmentaldomainsofayoungchildbycomparingandcontrastinghervirtualchildwith
specificexamplesregardingcognitive,social/emotional,language,andphysicaldevelopments.
Asafutureeducator,Brookeexhibitsseveralqualitiesofanintentionalteacherwhoiskind,
caring,andcompassionate.Brookesteachingdispositionsincluderespectforchildren,kindness,
selfawareness,andapositiveattitude.Shehashadmanyopportunitiestoobserveandinteract
withyoungchildrenatavarietyofearlychildhoodsettings,teachinglessonsatourcampusChild
DevelopmentCenter,fieldexperiencesandpracticumsforseveralschooldistricts,workingwitha
therapeutichorsebackridingprogramforyoungchildrenandanactivememberof4Hforten
years.Currently,BrookeisanassistantteacheratTodaysLearningChildcareandAcademy
workingwithyoungchildren,infantstoearlyelementary.Inthisposition,Brookeisteaching
andprovidingnurturingcaretoyoungchildrenandcommunicatingwithfamiliesonadailybasis.
