A trip to the Moon:

1. A rocket is being made to send explorers to the moon. After is successfully


carries them to the moon, the explorers discover a species of aliens and
are taken captive. They then escape and return to earth where they are
made heroes.
2. In 1902, The Wright Brothers flew the very first plane successfully, this
opened questions to whether, as the film suggested, space travel was
possible.
3. Throughout the film, the camera remains stationary and the actors do all
the movement, this was a mixture of two contributing factors; the film is
easier to edit when stationary, and modern cameras were too heavy for
movement.
4. The purpose of this film is too entertain. It also contributed to moving
away from the idea films and editing had the sole purpose to educate.
5. The section of film that shows the most development of special effects is
the parts in which we see the stars, comets and the earth. These also
display the fade effect.
6. The film is in chronological order; this means that it can effectively tell a
story. It has a beginning middle and an end, and is a work of fiction.
7. The length of the film is relevant as it is considered the first ever feature
length film; this meant that it was the longest film ever made in the period
it was produced.
8. Melies had moved on film production on from the Lumiere brothers
significantly as it contained a developed plot, special effects and editing.
