Me: Ohayo brothers and sisters, welcome to the JAV Podcast channel.

My name is Minh
Toshiba and today along with me is our honorable guest, Mickey-sensei, he is the
youngest person to ever obtain a professor degree in World History. So, can you please
share with me and our audiences some of your knowledge about our topic for today,
Enlighten Thinkers.

Mickey: Sure, no problem. In fact, I know about hundred or more thinkers during this
period. But due to time restriction, I will only talk about one, who is also the most
important, the one and only John Locke.
John Locke, born on August 29, 1632, in Wrington, Somerset, England, went to
Westminster school and then Christ Church, University of Oxford. At Oxford he studied
medicine, which would play a central role in his life. He became a highly influential
philosopher, writing about such topics as political philosophy, epistemology, and
education. Locke's writings developed the philosophy that there were no legitimate
government under the divine rights of king or absolute monarchy. Locke didnt think this
was right so he wrote his own theory to challenge it. One idea in his theory was the
power to be a governor has to be granted by the people through voting, which is currently
used by almost all country in the world nowadays. Can you guess the other idea?

Me: Oh, I know this, my wonderful world history teacher had teached me before. So
another idea is all people had natural rights, but unfortunately thats all I can remember,
so Mickey-sensei, can you please elaborate for us those rights.

Mickey: yes, thats true. These rights were life, liberty, and property. He said that
people automatically gained these rights when they were born. The government is
supposed to protects these rights of the citizens. These ideas may sound very familiar
because most of his ideas were adopted into the declaration of independence. John
Lockes ideas became the foundation of many political systems and gave millions of
people freedom, especially Americans.

Me: Ok, arigatou, mickey-sensei thank you for your great presentation, but
unfortunately, our time is almost up.

Mickey: are u sure? There is still many more details which I can add, like the name of
his cat, his mother, his wife, and etc.

Me: it is ok, thank you for coming, Mickey-sensei. Now, to broaden our topic about
John Locke, I would like to add some information from other History experts. First,
Locke shared his ideas mainly through writing, according to History.com In three
Letters Concerning Toleration (1689-92), Locke suggested that governments

should respect freedom of religion except when the dissenting belief was a threat to
public order. Second, Lockes wife remained to be a controversial topic as stated by
famousscientist.org, Locke never married in his lifetime, while this contrast sharply
