WHAT IS LAM
Latin America(n) Matters seeks to promote the discussion and
better understanding of economic, social and political issues
in Latin American countries through a public policy approach.
Founded in 2007, LAM is currently the largest student
organization; Recognized as the best HSO in the Students
Award in 2014 and 2013.

CURRENT CORE OBJECTIVES


Promote activities that increase the awareness of the economic,
social and political situation of Latin American countries from a
public policy perspective.
Become an information channel for Latin American issues among
LAM members and non members, taking advantage of the diversity
of origins and backgrounds of the students at Chicago Harris.
Promote a better understanding of the culture and idiosyncrasy of
Latin American countries within the University of Chicago
community.
