Download file(s) and copy over to router
Open /files on router
Files

Drag file named routeros-mipsbe-6.16.npk to


the router via Files window.
After finish, reboot your router

Download newest package and reboot the router
to finalize the upgrade

Check for update automatically

If there is new version, click Download & Upgrade
Router will reboot automatically

Lab 1.16 Netinstall w/o Com Port


Connect computer to Ethernet port 1
Launch Netinstall
Click on Net booting
tick= Boot Server enabled
Write a random IP address in the same subnet as
computer (example=192.168.X.3)
Client IP address=192.168.X.3

In Packages section, click Browse and select


directory containing valid NPK files

Power off the router.
Simultaneously plug in the power and press
the reset button until the ACT LED turns
off
Router will appear in Routers/Drives section
Select it!

Select (tick) required RouterOS version from


Packages section
Install button becomes available; click it!

The progress bar will turn blue as the NPK file
is being transferred
Once completed, close Netinstall
Use MAC-Winbox to connect as configuration
will be blank
Even if Keep old configuration was checked!!
