Educational Philosophy
Art is not created in a vacuum, and serves instead as a dialogue which bridges global perspectives and disciplines. A tool I use
to scaffold students towards understanding and discussing artwork in our postmodern, hybrid culture of the 21st
century is
the The Conceptual Frameworks utilized in the New South Wales curriculum. I believe the Frames can be used to question
students towards thinking like an artist, an artists audience, and even an art critic. It is this real-world connection that
students hunger for. As a teacher who is constantly engaged in personal studio practice, I aim to use my passion for the arts
to share work inside and outside of the classroom, and to ignite the creative appetites of my students.
