My lesson plan connects to futures thinking. The way I incorporated futures thinking into my lesson was for the
students to think of ways to improve the access to potable water in any underdeveloped country. It is important for
the students to be able to think about the future and how they can help. If these underdeveloped countries do not
gain access to potable water, people will continue to become ill. Students must realize that not every country is like
the United States when it comes to the access to potable water. In order for the world to improve altogether, we must
invent new technologies. It takes creative minds to come up with ideas like ones that are now around today. The
filtered water bottles are a great new invention that can actually filter non-potable water into potable water. One way
to use of futures thinking in this scenario could come up with an organization that donates theses types of water
bottles to countries in need.
