Death, Mobilization, and the Fight for Power

The death of a duke

BOSNIA- Two future leaders of Austria-Hungary were shot dead in the streets on
Sunday,June 28th ,1914. Archduke Ferdinand and his wife travelled to Bosnia to
show their trust in its citizens by parading around the streets in an open-topped
car,wrong choice. His trust proved too great, for both him and his wife of low birth,
who no-one really cares about, were shot by Serbian assassins called the Black
Hand. Now the royals would have lived if their driver didn't carelessly make a wrong
turn passing a sandwich shop which was host to one of the assassins, leave it to the
professional suicide bomber to fancy a sandwich and as fate had it, to pass the
royal car on the way. read more on page 12.

German Stubbornness
On July 30th, 1914 Germany decided to mobilize, even when the leaders of our
nation told them it was a bad idea. They mobilized on Belgium thinking they could
sneak up on French troops and attack from behind, but when our army found out
about this plot we declared war on them. To help save our alliance with the French
we sent our troops to help end the invasive escapade. Before this our country was
mainly trying to stay neutral even though we were and are tied to the Triple Entente
alliance. But after Germany ignored our countries help, we will send our family
members to the war. Read more on page 37.

Who is to Blame for the War?

The Triple Entente, a group for whatever reason determined to stubbornly pick a
fight with so many powerful countries. Austria-Hungary may have lost a duke, but
their actions following his death started a war. Nation turning on nation. After
making ridiculous threats to Serbia, demanding the give Austria their country, they
became impatient and instead of waiting for an answer they just declared war. Then
Germany, being apart of the Triple Alliance, decided to mobilize through Belgium
and attack France. France being apart of the stronger alliance was obviously
supported by us and Russia. And to top it all off Germany declared war on Russia
the largest country in Europe.Germany also decided to make a new kind of boat, call
the submarine which goes underwater to attack foreign ships. Those foreign ships
being British troops. Although we controlled most of the ocean pathways this new
creation will take our nations troops by surprise. Italy had the good idea to switch
sides and join the fight with our country as we have more colonized countries that
came to help us fight. Such as Canada, Australia, India, some parts of Africa and the
United States. But the United States wish to remain neutral in this war which isn't
appreciated. Therefore the Triple Entente is the sole cause of this brutal war so
many nations have been dragged into.
