WEEK SIX EVALUATION REPORT

Program Description
The purpose of this assessment was to determine if the instructors training needs at this
students organization, the US Army Medical Department Center and School (AMEDDC&S)
AMEDD Center and School. The assessment would consist of a survey that students would
complete at the end of the course. Department Chiefs or course administrators, senior instructors,
or anyone designated by the department chief would be able to complete the survey at any time
with or without notice. The stakeholders consist of the taxpayers, leadership, instructors, and
students.
The total budget required for the complete assessment totals out to 104,840.00 dollars
which allowed personnel involved allowed at least eight hours a week for six months which
equals to twenty-six weeks times eight hours which is 208 hours times 20 personnel involved.
This equals to 4160 total hours at an average of twenty-four dollars an hour equals to 99,840.00
dollars plus 5000 dollars for miscellaneous items such as office supplies.
The following is specific information being measured by the assessment: Instructor was
ready to present the lesson to include equipment to be used in the class. The survey will also ask
about the instructors level of expertise, technical, and confidence: if the instructors facilitation
skills were demonstrated, questioning techniques that caused critical thinking. Other important
data that will be gathered from this survey will consist of various questions on student
engagement/learning. Did the instructor lectured vs. facilitated, did the instructor teach to the
power point and engage students. Another measure would be the effectiveness, and the use of all
instructor tools and methods.
The level of motivation the instructor presented:

Established high expectations & challenged students.

WEEK SIX EVALUATION REPORT

Provided feedback during & after task.

Gave meaningful & quality feedback.

Obtained specific feedback to individual students.

The Final category would consist of asking if there were enough hands-on oriented,
actual, or simulated tools, and if the instruction or lessons could be applied to the students job.
Description of the Problem
The problem the needs assessment identified was that instructors required additional
training because instructors are only reading the slides i.e. Power Points and therefore creating a
situation know as death by PowerPoint. According to Rouse (2015), death by PowerPoint is a
phenomenon caused by the poor use of presentation software key contributors to death by
PowerPoint include confusing graphics, slides with too much text and presenters whose idea of a
good presentation is to read 40 slides out aloud (Internet Acronyms and Lingo).

Inputs
Inputs identify the resources, activities, outputs, short-term outcomes, and impact the
course, training, or program. To include financial, organizational, or human resources invested
and include staff, facilities, and budgets. Inputs in this case, consist of the following:

Instructors and students

WEEK SIX EVALUATION REPORT

The budget and resources required for this assessment is as follows: all individuals
involved in this assessment will input their time under additional duty tab. That is twenty
personnel involved allowed at least eight hours a week for six months which equal to twenty-six
weeks times eight hours which is 208 hours times 20 personnel involved. This equals to 4160
total hours at an average of twenty-four dollars an hour equals to 99,840.00 dollars plus 5000
dollars for miscellaneous items such as office supplies. The total budget required for the
complete assessment totals out to 104,840.00 dollars.

Activities
Activities are the actions, tasks, or planned events that constitute the program. Its what
the program staff will do. Activities consist of the following:
Resource Creation

Create survey
The survey of the instructor will be handed out to the student but can also be used by
Department Chiefs or course administrators, senior instructors, or anyone designated by
the department chief. The survey can be conducted with or without notice. The
completion of the course objectives is a serious part of teaching, and learning is the
overall goal of the instruction. Some of the things this needs assessment will also provide
is if the student learned because at the end of the day that is whats important. In other
words if learning did not take place and the objectives were not met, then the instruction
is unsatisfactory, regardless of the instructors performance.

Guidelines
The guidelines will include instructions to the students, instructors, and the department
chiefs.

Policies
To create stakeholder buy in and max participation in the program leadership will have to
create policy changes. Policy will introduce the new program timeline and program
administrators information.

Resources Testing for Validity & Reliability

The survey in its totality will provide the results required in order to confirm instructors

require training. In other words, if an instructor is identified only by twenty surveys out of one
hundred as having issues the instructor will not attend training. Likewise if the instructor is
identified by forty-five surveys out of one hundred, then he or she will have to attend training.
Other activities include the survey being distributed to all instructors.

WEEK SIX EVALUATION REPORT

Instructors submit the survey to Mr. Barrios at the end of training.

Collect and record data

Identify instructors requiring additional training on new methods of teaching, engaging

all types learners, and their learning abilities.

Instructor Training

Scheduling

Instructors identified will schedule for training. Ones identified the instructor will be
considered unqualified to teach until the training has been concluded.

Training delivery

The training will consist of one forty hour class to assist the instructor in improving his
methods of teaching.

New Curriculum Execution

Scheduling

Change lesson plans

Change classroom materials

Conduct Instructor Assessment

Outputs
Outputs are the countable products that result from the activities (e.g. the number of
educational pamphlets distributed, the number of individual therapy sessions held, the number of
clients transported to the day treatment program).
Instructors identified attend course

WEEK SIX EVALUATION REPORT

Instructor complete training with a satisfactory grade of 90 and above.

60% of instructors identified are Training instructors by the start of the new physical year 2017.
Outcomes
Outcomes consist of the following: short-term, mid-term, and long-term goals.
Short-term

Improved knowledge, improved knowledge and adult Lerner reasoning

Skills improved abilities and appropriate use

Attitude & Roles, The level of motivation the instructor presented: Established high
expectations & challenged students. Provided feedback during & after a task. Gave
meaningful & quality feedback. Obtained specific feedback to individual students.

Satisfaction increased training effectiveness and enthusiasm for the program.

Med-Term

Applied behavior by the instructor, positive survey results.

Improved student outcome, decrease the use of power point by 50% lecture vs. facilitate.

Instructors acquire knowledge, skills and competencies required to professionally carry

out their instructor roles.

Long-term

Improved classroom environment, confidence, and classroom interaction.

Common knowledge and competencies are developed and applied.

Decrease negative survey outcome.

Evaluation

The evaluation indicators throughout the program will consist of the following:

Output

Are instructors attending the course and meeting the goals identified?

Shot-term, Mid-term, Long-term Outcomes

Have the Department Chiefs or Course administrators notice and difference in survey
outcome, and lectures?

Are instructors, satisfied with their work?

Are U.S. Army Medical Department Center and School (AMEDDC&S) training
outcomes improving?

Data collection procedures

The survey will be distributed among all instructors. Instructors are to submit the survey
to Mr. Barrios at the end of training. Mr. Barrios will be in-charge of collecting data from the
students end of course survey to identifying changes in the organization. The data collected by
this survey will be used to determine if instructors require training on new methods of teaching
or teaching instructors how to engage all types learners and their learning abilities.

department chief will receive the written report form Mr. Barrios. The department chief will then
disperse the information in the monthly meeting to higher-up leadership. No results will be
provided to previous course attendees. However, new students will receive a briefing before their
first class and an explanation of the program being implemented. The findings that the evaluation
process can conclude will activities were accomplished as per the time allowed, the number of
personnel needing training, number of participants that will or have completed the training. The
