Description
(The subject or focus of the project)

My drawing is inspired by the casualness of artist Akira Toriyamas

style. I will be drawing one of his original characters sitting on a
chair on the left side of the paper watching a television set on the
right side of the paper. I am intrigued with the contrast of a 2D
character watching TV, which is 3D. The negative space between
the character and object will be lighter than all of the remaining
space will be darker to emphasize the light produced by the
television set. Then character will be colored with blue and yellow,
the table and chair will be red, and the background will be a black.
The values present on the character will create emphasis in the
work as they will bring interest towards him. The drawing will be
on a 9x6 sheet of paper in the horizontal orientation.
My drawing will be portrait of a character created by Hideo Kojima,
inspired by the coolness of the character. The face will comprise the
whole space of the paper and will feature graphite shading for value
creating the illusion of form. The portrait will portray the character
from a frontal view point. The character will have a stern
expression as this person is a solider. I am drawing this portrait as
I have always found drawing people particularly challenging. The
graphite-created values of the work will create contrast between a
darker left side and a lighter right side. The drawing will be on a
9x6 sheet of paper in the vertical orientation.
My drawing will be of an original character created by artist Masashi
Kishimoto saluting as a solider. I was inspired to draw this as
Kishimoto created one of my favorite series of comics, and I
wanted to draw something from it. The character will be smiling
because the one and only focal point of the work. The background
will be a gradating blue coming off of the character. The drawing
will feature value caused by an unseen light source. I am drawing
this work to add to my collection of similar works. The space the

sense of visual asymmetrical balance. The drawing will be on a

9x6.125 sheet of paper in the vertical orientation.

All art project created for the second 9 weeks will be due NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 11, 2015.
