Haylee Hanson has been a student teacher at the American School of Brasilia from August to December
2015. Escola Americana de Brasilia is fully accredited by Advanc-Ed and is an IB World School. Our educational
programs rank with those found in any progressive school system in the United States. Along with the above
accreditation, the Escola Americana de Brasilia is accredited by the Brazilian Ministry of Education and holds
membership in the Association of American Schools of South America as well as the Association for the
Advancement of International Education.
Haylee has asked me to write this recommendation letter, I do so with pleasure. Haylee has Partner taught in
first grade and third grade. During that time she demonstrated the qualities of an exemplary teacher and
faculty member. Haylee developed a positive, productive relationship with each one of her students, their
parents and the faculty members she worked with. She planned and implemented daily reading lessons for
guided reading groups based on Fountas and Pinnell Leveled Literacy as well as incorporating different
interactive reading activities personalized to each students needs. She conducted Writers Workshops with
multiple level reading and writing groups. She successfully differentiated engagements in Math, Word Study
and Reading. She demonstrated excellent routines and behavioral management strategies to maximize
student engagement time.
Haylee has many excellent qualities as a person as well as an educator. She is an excellent
communicator. She is knowledgeable and creative. She demonstrated commitment to her students,
colleagues and the school. Her teaching pedagogy is effective. And, she works collaboratively in a team
teaching situation.
I have full confidence that Haylee is and will be an exemplary teacher. Haylee is a committed educator. She
will bring the knowledge and dedication necessary for your school to improve. If you find yourself in a
