Students in Art II must have successfully passed Art I, be motivated and interested in advancing their artistic skills and be
capable of working independently on longer projects. This class is designed to build upon concepts learned in Art I. Students
will be taught more complex artistic techniques and learn how to communicate ideas in works of art. This class will boost
critical thinking and develop communication skills through writing and talking about art.

What art supplies do I need?

How will my work be graded?

1. Pencil and eraser. Everyday


2. 9x12 plain white paper SPIRAL BOUND
sketchbook
3. Optional : Prisma brand colored pencils

1. Craftsmanship is the work neat and clean?


2. Discipline is my work completed and on time?
3. Skill does the work show and understanding or the
specific art concept and control of assigned medium?
4. Effort does the work show evidence of deliberate effort
and use of class time?

What are the rules?


Students are expected to learn and follow all
of the classroom rules and procedures, as well
as those outlined in the Hillside Handbook.
CLASSROOM RULES:
1. Be respectful to yourself and others.
Respect classroom materials
2. Follow directions
3. Be prepared to work and learn
4. No teasing, bullying, running,
throwing or rough play. Indoor voices
5. Be creative!
CONSEQUENCES
1. Verbal warning

Serious behavior, such as safe school
violations, will be immediately referred to the
administration

Each assignment will be awarded a letter grade or points


based on the following assessment:
EXCELLENT .100 to 93 points (A)
VERY GOOD ....92-90 points (A-)
GOOD 89-84 points (B)
AVERAGE 83-70 points (B-)
POOR ...........69-60 points (C)
UNACCEPTABLE ..59-0 points (C-)
Students have 2 extra days after a deadline to take project
home and finish. After the two extra days work will loose 10
pts a day.

Extra Credit
Students can earn up to 10 extra credit points each quarter.
Extra Credit will be offered to students who have turned in
all their assignments. Students may earn extra credit by;
attending art museums or exhibits and writing reviews about
them, reviewing art from books or the Internet, or donating
items to the classroom.
Students are not eligible for extra credit if they have more
than one unexcused absence, more than 3 tardies or a total
of 4 absences of any sort (Except for school excused, funeral
or medical).
