What does the Excretory


System do?
The

excretory system collects waste


that the cells produce and removes
them from the body.
Urea, is a chemical that breaks down

proteins
Urine is a fluid made up of Urea and
other wastes.

The Parts
Kidneys
Ureters
Urinary Bladder
Urethra

Waste Filtration
Waste

is filtered out of the


bloodstream by the
Kidneys.

The

Kidney is made up of
millions of Filtering
factories called
Nephrons.

Nephrons

filter the blood


in two stages
Waste and materials exit the

bloodstream
Good materials are sent
back to the blood

Maintaining
Homeostasis
Excretion

helps to

maintain
homeostasis by
keeping the bodys
internal
environment
stable and free of
harmful levels of
chemicals.
