Hamlet

William Shakespeare's "Hamlet" is divided into five acts and centres on the main character, Hamlet.
The first act introduces a marriage(between Claudius and Gertrude), the ghost of King Hamlet, a
new king (Claudius, brother of king Hamlet), the death of Hamlet's father, the new wife of the king
(Hamlet's mother, Gertrude), and three more characters(Ophelia,Laertes and Polonius). In the first
act, the ghost reveals the death of his father at the hands of Claudius; Hamlet, as prince to the
throne, undertakes to exact revenge for this injustice. In Act II, Shakespeare introduces Hamlet's
first internal conflict. Even though weeks have passed, Hamlet has not commenced to exact his
revenge because he don't know if the ghost tells him the truth. However, Hamlet is open to other
options: if his stepfather demonstrates any guilt during the re enactment of the murder, he will
believe the ghost's story. In the third act we have the death of Polonius by Hamlet who was thinking
that was Clauduis. Clauduis, fearing for his life, sends Hamlet to England on a diplomatic pretext and
discloses that he is actually sending Hamlet to his death. Act Four reveals another death; this time it
is Ophelia. She has drowned. The last act of "Hamlet" reveals the conflict between Laertes and
Hamlet in which both die,the death of Gertrude and the death of Claudius killed by Hamlet.
