Continuation of the
anterior tibial artery.
Starting point: When
anterior tibial artery
crosses the ankle joint.
Ending point: Between
the two heads of the
first dorsal
interosseous muscle
joins lateral plantar artery

Branches of Dorsalis Pedis Artery


Tarsal arteries
Passes medially and laterally over
tarsal bones, forms anastomosis with
vessels around ankle.

Arcuate artery
Passes laterally over dorsal aspect
of metatarsals and give rise to
three dorsal metatarsal arteries
supplies dorsal digital arteries of
adjacent sides of 2nd to 5th toe.
