Training Program Plan

The Hall School of Wrestling is a specialized institution for the betterment of collegiate
wrestling, as a whole, specializing in the promotion of communication within the program. This
private organization employs 15, highly experienced staff members, and is a national leader in
optimizing the true potential of collegiate wrestling programs. The organization is owned, and
operated by Dean Hall, and is a newer organization. At the facility in Mineral, Virginia, Coach
Hall consistently hosts hundreds of successful tournaments, clinics and camps for collegiate
wrestlers, and coaches. The goal of the company is to improve communication and organization
of wrestling programs throughout the United States, and to use a signature video series to
continue to increase communication and organization so that it causes new programs to be
created.
The Hall School of Wrestling would like to offer The Hall School of Wrestling Training
Videos 8-disc, training video instructional set for club teams across the country, but must
improve on time-management within the company before embarking on this new endeavor. As
Mr. Goodwin states in his article regarding time-management at work, A heavy workload
combined with a lack of time can create problems. (Goodwin. 2007. p. 18). These training
videos cover the important aspects that need to be followed to create and maintain a successful,
top-level club wrestling program. These videos contain instruction on employee training, policies
and procedures creation and implementation, safety procedures, product marketing, course
offerings and marketing, scheduling, payroll, taxation and other important aspects to creating a
successful, well-trained club wrestling program. The program also comes with a program
director, support staff and all pertinent resources to ensure proper implementation of the
program. This training program is currently needed within the Hall School of Wrestling before

being marketed for clients. All members of staff at the Hall School of Wrestling will experience
the training program to ensure smooth transition of the program.
Scope
The structure of the wrestling club training program is designed especially for a varied
range of participants. Those with years of experience, beginners and additional personnel, to
include all levels of management. The purpose of this training program is to provide successful,
informative instructions about developing appropriate training plans, and serving a higher
number of beginner, intermediate, and elite level club programs through the implementation of
the Hall School of Wrestling Training Videos. Also, this training program will equip new
personnel with the skills regarding how to manage time wisely, and developing training/practice
plans and conducting appropriate training implementation. To ensure a profitable work
investment, this program will enforce the aspects of time management techniques and how
essential these techniques are to attain company goals and objectives.

Audience
This training will utilize a variety of applicable resources for each member of staff
participating in the training program. All staff members, to include all management personnel,
will be required to participate, each Friday, in a single-day training module, for the period of
approximately one month. The training program will include various resources, to include social
media tools, as part of the training material to ensure knowledge amongst participants.
Management participation will be most vital to the program as their ability to receive,
prepare/plan, and become fully knowledgeable is paramount in assisting and supporting their
staff throughout the training process. It is of the utmost important for the training program to

ensure understanding amongst participants before conducting any club practices or training
sessions with clients of any age group.
The program goals and objectives are as follows:
Goals

Hall School of Wrestling Coaches and Staff will comprehend and be able to apply
time-management techniques to respective tasks with confidence and accuracy.

Hall School of Wrestling Coaches and Staff will appropriately prioritize their
workloads to increase program production.

Hall School of Wrestling Coaches and Staff will be able to individualize practice
and training plans within sufficient time allotment to be determined by the
coach and management in accordance with club policies and procedures.

Objectives

Hall School of Wrestling Coaches and Staff will demonstrate understanding of

time management by successfully demonstrating three appropriate techniques.

Hall School of Wrestling Coaches and Staff will adequately align strategies to
complete their planned practices and training sessions within a required time.

Hall School of Wrestling Coaches and Staff will successfully pick a specific day
(Friday) to develop weekly program plans.

Part II - Needs Analysis

This needs analysis describes the importance appropriate time management, and being able to
appropriately utilize time when training, and in training. The following are the four techniques
used for this needs analysis:

1. Questionnaires
2. Observations
3. Interviews
4. Informal interactions with colleagues
Questionnaires were sent via email, and participants were made aware of the significance, and
importance of their feedback. Sending informal questionnaires promptly at the conclusion of a
training program ensures the most accurate, intuitive feedback for the trainers of the program.
Several of the questions articulated in this questionnaire were intentionally designed to identify
time, or schedule stressors in the lives of club staff, to be able to assist in determining how well
employees managed their time while at work. Also, this would allow clubs the ability to analyze
other venues and practices that affect, or are conducive to the mismanagement of time. Timemanagement may not always be at the forefront of concern for a club organization, however,
questionnaires can assist in identifying all staff members level of time-management
performance.
Observations of coaches occurs to ensure the training is relevant and appropriate to all clients.
These observations are conducted formally with accredited, certified trainers in the field, on a
monthly basis for each employee. The purpose of these observations is to analyze the work
activities of employees, and to measure their appropriate times and services. The alternate
purpose was to assist in identifying possible, extra-curricular work activities which were
plausibly causing time management issues amongst some staff members. One major issue
coaches are facing is they continue to focus on various, online technique resources with regard to
developing training/practice plans. This makes it difficult to select an appropriate plan, and can
lead to serious time management issues.

Interviews are conducted to allow coaches the ability to express their ideas regarding
modification of techniques, and appropriate time flexibility. A majority of staff members were
extremely interested in learning how to apply efficient practices for time-management, and
increase methods to increase client population for courses and camps. Most staff members were
aware of the importance of appropriate time-management skills, but lacked appropriate education
and training to suitably practice them and accommodate clients.
Lastly, informal and formal interaction with colleagues, to include management, were primary
indicators to collect relevant information. Coaches required to provide additional, individual
instruction were concerned about their ability to continue to produce high levels of work and
appropriately manage their schedules. Staff member concerns were considered carefully for
continue examination and exploration, and staff will be kept abreast of the situation.
Time management was, observably, one of the major concerns about this club wresting program.
The lack of time management skills is having a negative, and common impact on employee
morale, and staff is concerned with their ability to complete job tasks in a timely manner, at a
high level and while increasing program productivity. Thus, the time-management training is of
the utmost importance.

Benefits
The time management training program for the Hall School of Wrestling is based on the
needs of the coaches and staff, and will include a series of courses for continued progress. The

employees participating in the program will learn new skills and strategies which will allow them
to develop problem-solving, and time-management strategies more efficiently. Timemanagement will teach Hall School of Wrestling staff to address and organize their priorities,
control work-related stress, and be more productive handling workloads and schedules.
Participants will be able to target clients with confidence, while spending the time needed to get
the job done efficiently and effectively under the constraints of time-management.

Instructional Practices.
Program trainers will use relevant instruction material as examples, and will deliver bestoptions and decision-making concepts using these examples. The purpose of these practices is to
obtain the attention of the participants and keep them engaged. The instruction will also include
some online videos, social media assistance and other presentation platforms, like PowerPoint,
YouTube and other technological tools to convey the messages of the program.

Promotional Channels and Materials

One aspect of implementing this training program is to utilize some of the learned
techniques and strategies to reach new employees faster, and encourage them to participate in the
Hall School of Wrestling Training Videos. To further promote this endeavor, the Hall School of
Wrestling will implement a communication channel for the club. The purpose of the
communication channel is as follows:
notify potential/current employees about the time management training program.
encourage all staff to participate in the training program.
explain the benefits of attending the program.

reinforce the importance of practicing practical strategies learned during the training.
support employees with any confusion regarding how to apply new practices.
reduce resistance among experienced employees, and address any concerns.

The training program will use traditional marketing techniques and social media
assistance to promote the program. Initially, the Hall School of Wrestling will be sending some
pamphlets with appropriate information for employees, to give them the chance to learn about
and prepare for this training. Another possible advertising method would be posting
informational pamphlets on bulletin boards located in commonly frequented areas where they are
clearly, and easily visible to large volumes of people. Another method of delivering these notices
is through the Hall School of Wrestling website. This strategy will ensure awareness and will
allow a larger number of possible participants to view the program from areas, geographically,
unable to see what is included. An email chain would be another method of communication for
the program. Email is extremely useful for sending information out to groups and individuals
requesting information. Initial emails would be sent to those clubs demonstrating a need for
assistance with time management. These groups would be considered a priority for attendance in
the training program. It would be vital to target that group and confirm their participation. This
progress can quickly spread the news with others, making the training program more popular.
This clearly motivates others to attend as well.
Another way to communicate and spread the word about the training program is during
department, or staff meetings and conferences within the company. It is important that coworkers project motivation, and use these types of meetings to advocate for the program, and to
increase the number of participants. Management can also encourage employees by informing

them, in these meetings, about the benefits of the training program can bring, possible incentives
and possible future, beneficial scenarios. All directors, and management can also participate in
the training. This action give the training effective credibility, and demonstrates loyalty, and
belief in the training from the top of the company. This has a lasting effect on employees.

Part VII--- Program Evaluation

Evaluation assessments will determinate the success of the training. To successfully
assess the programs, training implementers must gather feedback to measure the value of the
training and the effect it had on the company, and the employees. Participants in all aspects of the
training should participate in the assessment aspect to ensure all components of the training
process, and implementation are accurately measured.
The purpose of the evaluation rubric will consist in determining whether all the
employees were able to learn, and retain new information regarding time-management strategies
and effective practices. All participants will complete assessments to evaluate the quality of the
instruction during the training program, to include the performance of the trainer, and the
resources made available throughout the program. Management will be able to view and discuss
results with employees before, and after the training program. The information gathered
throughout these assessments will facilitate a better understanding of time-management
strategies to all coaches and staff of the Hall School of Wrestling. Management will then be able
to evaluate program benefits, and be able to make appropriate changes when necessary.

Evaluation Metrics

The metrics system that will be evaluated to assess if time management is presently
efficient and properly utilized are as follows:
Success of Training Management and Lead Coaches will assess their
coaches to determine if appropriate time-management strategies are being properly
implemented after two weeks of observation.
Instructor Performance Coaches and staff will ask via questionnaires about
their reactions regarding the training program and its layout. These questionnaires will
include timing preference, and the facilitation of the instructions. Management will also
be giving these questionnaires as a way to evaluate feedback regarding effectiveness of
the training, and how it could improve.
Participant SatisfactionManagement and coaches will conduct individual
assessments regarding the practical use of the information provided in the training
program. Participants will also be able to include their feedback regarding overall
satisfaction with the training program.
