Caitlin Osborn, Piano Teacher
Dear New Student,
I am so excited to start working together! In order to ensure that I can focus on teaching,
and you can focus on music, please review my lesson policies below:

TUITION:
-Payments will be in 1 month intervals.
-Payments will be accepted on the students first lesson of each new month.
This allows us to preplan our lesson scheduling, so I can set aside time for you, and you
can set aside time for your lesson.
Below are the tuition rates, calculated by the payment interval of one month:
30 minute lesson= $30.00 X 4 (weeks) = Amount due at first lesson of the month:
Total=$140.00
60 minute lesson= $50.00 X 4 (weeks) = Amount due at first lesson of the month:
Total=$200.00
*If I am driving to your location, please see the Driving Fee section, as these prices will be
different

LESSONS:
Lessons are tailored to fit the needs of every individual student. I will spend a lot of time
organizing your specific path to optimal success.
During the first six months, the students abilities are analyzed, strengths and
weaknesses assessed, and remedial action for weaknesses addressed. The weaknesses could
be on many levels, including, but not limited: to technical problems, musical deficiencies, or
repertoire inexperience.
Weekly practice work will be assigned, and you are expected to prepare this work for the
next lesson to the best of your ability (at that time). The purpose of these assignments are to
improve your playing but also to challenge you. That being said, I expect nothing less than you
to come prepared to the lesson, and I expect to see improvement in your playing every week.
Coming to the lesson unprepared will not be tolerated.
At lessons we can, and we will have time for discussions concerning challenges you
may have faced over the week such as: technical questions, fingering issues, musical material,
etc. However, I can only help you if you have done the necessary preplanning and preparation
for our lesson. I can only give you the tools to improve, it is your job to use them.
Please understand that this is because I want to push you to the best of your potential.
If you choose not to work hard, you are only hurting yourself. I will not expect you to do
something that I have not done myself, or that I have not showed or demonstrated to you.

CANCELLATIONS:
-Cancellations must be within 24 hours of the lesson. Exceptions will be made for major
emergencies. You

will be charged the equivalent of one lesson for

cancellations given less than 24 hours before the lesson (see prices above).
-If you are planning to go on vacation you must give me at least 1 months notice, or you will be
charged for the month you are gone.
-If you are planning on quitting, you must give me at least 1 months notice or you will be
charged.

MAKE UP LESSONS
-If 24 hour cancellation notice is given, the student is more than welcome to reschedule his/her
lesson. Makeups will be given within the month they were missed. Lessons do not roll over to
the following month.

DRIVING FEE:
-If I am driving to your home, a driving fee will be added to cover the cost of my transportation
both to and from your location.
-For every 30 minutes I drive, $5.00 is added to the lesson price.
For example:
Your home 30 minutes away from me, the driving fee will be a total of $10.00.
If you take 60 minute lessons, your total cost (driving fee included) is:
$50.00 X 4 weeks= $200.00 + $40.00 (driving fee of $10.00 X 4weeks) =
Total $240.00 p/mo

PROMOTIONS:
-Referrals are the best compliment I can receive. For every new student you send to me
who registers for one month of lessons, I will give you 2 free lessons as a thank you!!!!

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask me! I will do whatever I
can to accommodate you! I am so excited for our journey together to begin!
Your devoted piano teacher,
Caitlin Osborn
