The mission of North Bullitt High School is to become Excellent, Ambitious, Genuine,

Description of Course: This course involves students learning chemistry and the general
principles of how science works. Emphasis is on development of organizational skills, applying
information to lab situations, and note-taking. This course will give the student a real life look at
science with many hands on activities. This allows students to apply what they have learned
about scientific investigation and apply it to real world situations. It is a required course at North
Bullitt High School. Each semester is granted credit if it is passed with a 60% or higher.

Solving Math Problems in science
Matter and it structure
Class Expectations
Come to class prepared with all materials
Put forth your best effort on all work
Ask any questions you may have!
All school rules stated in the student handbook will be enforced.
Plagiarism or cheating will not be tolerated.

For certain behavior situations, students who do not follow classroom expectations will be
dealt with in the following manner.
First infraction - I will give student a warning.
Second Infraction - I will have a student conference and contact the parent
Third infraction - I will write an office referral
If there are extreme problems, any of the above steps may be skipped according to the
severity of the situation.
Semester Grade is calculated
First Nine weeks = 40%
Cheating and plagiarizing are not tolerated in this class. You will receive a zero on any
assignment where you are caught cheating or plagiarizing.
Materials
Class Fee $5.00
Notebook/paper and writing utensil is required daily
1 notebook for Lab
4 x 6 index cards
Folder (to take home and keep assignments in)
Scientific Calculator, Scientific calculator, TI-30XS multi-view recommended.
Calculators will be used on every test and any who does not have one will be expected
to do the math in their head.
I will be available to help students after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There will
be some changes as the year progresses I will let students know every week.

quickly and confidentially.
I also reserve the right to make changes to the syllabus should the need arise.
