Remote control adapter

The remote control adapter enables
you to connect the SCENIC infrared
receiver to a PC without a special
infrared receiver port. You need only a
serial interface and a gameport
connector on the PC.
You need an infrared receiver if you
want to use a remote control or
gamepad on your PC.

Installation

The gamepad offers you joystick and

mouse functionality. With the remote
control you can operate a CD player
and TV board, and also have mouse
functions at your disposal.

Switch off your PC using the

power switch (see the PC
Operating Manual).

Position the infrared receiver in

such a manner that there is clear
contact between the "eye" and the
remote control or gamepad, in
other words on or near the foot of
the monitor.

Plug the 15-pin connector of the

remote control adapter into the
PC's gameport.

Plug the 9-pin connector of the

remote control adapter into any
serial port on the PC.

The software required is in the

Windows 95 or TV board package.

If your PC has an infrared

receiver port installed, the
remote control adapter is not
needed.

Software

Attach the 25-pin connector of the

remote control adapter to the
infrared adapter's data line.

The 25-pin connector of the

remote control adapter may not
be connected to the PC's
parallel port!
Switch on your PC (see the PC
Operating Manual).

Software
The remote control software for
operating the mouse, joystick and CD
player in included in Windows 95. To
operate a TV board you must install
the software for the TV board (if you
have not done so already).
If you are using Windows 3.1x, you
require the software for the TV board
to use the remote control functions.
