K.M. : Although, not too many conflict resolution practices have arose to date in regards to my clinical nursing, they have definitely arisen
within my time-mangamgent skills. Before making any decision, I will allows weigh out pro's and con's for any situation. Getting advice
from others always benefits good decision making skills as well. All of these attributes will definitely help me with my conflict resolution
practices in the future of my practical nursing career.

K.M. : I always try to be self-aware of my own behaviour when in clinical practice. There is so many different personalities that I am in
contact with daily, and being able put my own values aside and making sure all care I provided is respectful or the patient or in this case,
my peers.

K.M. : Canada is one of the most multi-cultural countries in the world. Being able to adapt to a diverse environment is imperative when
getting into a health care career. All of CNO standards encompass the respect of other cultures and diversities. I believe that I have been

K.M. : Client education is one of the primary roles, that we as nurses possess. Being able to teach others the knowledge that we possess
is vital to nursing collaboration. Nursing is a constant learning environment, because every situation that we encounter is individualized to
that certain person. Being able to learn from others and acknowledge that there is always growth needed, is something that I have
recognized and applied throughout this clinical practice.

K.M. : Conflict in this profession needs to be recognized as a positive and not a negative. That is something that I have learned over this
past semester. Conflict leads to resolution and throughout that path it develops critical thinking skills, which are vital to have as a practical
nurse. I think I am able to apply my critical thinking to situations that need conflict resolution, when they arise.

K.M. : As being eager to learn, and trying to apply the knowledge I have to while doing assessments in class, I do believe that I have
fostered leadership skills amongst my peers. My behaviour inside the clinical lab and outside is professional, and I do try to help whenever
my peers need me. This is vice versa, as within this situation I am constantly learning as well.

come as prepared as I possibly can to clinical, however, there are instances where I do need clarification to understand the material a little

When planning care within the nursing process, it is always important to include the patient's unique needs. This in turn will provide the

K.M. : The holistic approach to nursing means treating each individual with the type of care they need when they need it. Allowing for care
to be for the mind, the body, and the spirit is an integration of that individuals faith and wellness. By keeping this in mind, a person's care
will be up to the CNO standards. By creating interventions that include people's values and needs, will allow for the entire multidisciplinary
team to provide appropriate care for the patient.

respiratory, cardiovascular, MSK, neurological, GI tract assessments. I plan to adhere these skills within my nursing career in an

K.M. : The nursing process includes the assessment, diagnoses, plan, intervention, and evaluation when an nurse is providing patient
care. While moving through the process decisions are made that are appropriate for the individual receiving care, while including their
values, beliefs and needs. These are all evident within my practice thus far.

most important thing to keep in my when providing care. That includes providing actions that reduce infection control, knowing emergency
codes, and using ethically appropriate care.

journal articles provided by the CNO, I think I answer questions based on the knowledge I have learned thus far, correctly. In some
instances, I may not know that answers, however, but this allows me to see clearly where I should focus my time in studying. The more
knowledge the better.

professors to reiterate information so that I understand better.

K.M. : Within health care systems, cohesive practice needs to be apparent. Being on the same page with you multidisciplinary team
requires communication and consensus. By collaborating with peers, and coming to mutual agreement is imperative to providing the best
care for a patient. Conflict will always arise at one point or another, the key is to always listen and try to work to a common purpose with
your colleagues.

way you would like to be treated".

K.M. : I believe that I do have strengths but also room for much improvement to better my nursing practice. I think that with regards to
strength, I am a fast learner, easily adaptable, highly organized, good at time management, and overall succeed in team environments.
Coming from a health discipline background already (kinesiologist), I believe that this has definitely given me foundations of the learning
environment provided within the clinical component of this practical nursing program. I write areas of focus down after every clinical lab
because those are the areas that in my eyes need more attention in my practice. This type of self-reflection that I do has definitely
contributed to my practice thus far.

K.M. : Along with attending all clinical labs thus far, I further foster my practice by going to open access lab times which aid in my
professional development.

K.M. : My day planner is a tool that I use in order to time-manage my studying for all classes and clinical assessments. Until now, it has
allowed me to plan out a learning strategy that incorporates all materials that needed to be learned for all my classes. I can look at my dayplanner and assess where I should be with my studying. This has definitely helped because time-management is crucial for me, due to
have other responsibilities like part-time jobs, family, etc.

K.M. : Many theories have been used in the history of the foundation of nursing such as Orem's theory, Piaget's developmental stages,
Maslow's hierarchy of needs, and approaches such as biomedical, behavioural, and socioenvironmental. All of these have shaped the
history of nursing thus far. It is always important that even though we hold this information as foundations to our practice, we need to
adhere to the patient's needs and values while providing care. By doing this, the most

K.M. : Nursing includes many different sciences that contribute to the breadth of knowledge that out practice entails. I have learned from
psychological, biological, physiological, and social sciences that all are incorporated within our practice and skills assessments. All these
need to be included because every patient is unique and may have different situations that the nurse (myself) will need to adapt to. Those
do not only include physical statuses of a patient, but also mental instabilities.
