Beginning(and(Ending(Routines:(
1. Routine(for(how(students(will(enter(the(room:(
Students should be in the locker room by the time the last bell rings. They will then have 5 minutes to be fully changed and into the gym. They will be expected to be at their designated spots while I
am taking attendance. While in the gym the students are not allowed to touch any equipment that my be set up for the days activity, if they do so a warning will be given. If students are being wild
( and rowdy I will stand there and wait for them to get to their spots and let them know they are wasting other classmates times. Once attendance is over we will begin our daily running and
stretching.

2. Routine(for(how(students(will(be(instructionally(engaged(while(attendance(is(taken(and(for(how(opening(business(is(conducted:(

While I am taking attendance I will discuss briefly with my students of the plans for the day. I will ask questions about what they know about the activity or, if they have played it before, I will ask what
the remember
( about it. This will give them something to think about while they are doing their running and stretching.

3. Routine(for(dealing(with(tardy(students:(
For the first tardy I will ask the student, privately, where they have been and to reassure them that being late is unacceptable. If it happens a second time I will start taking points away from their
daily 10 points. After multiple tardies and point deductions there will be a phone call made home to parents and an office referral form will be given out. They will have a chance to make up any lost
(
points by coming
in before or after school and walking or running laps for as many points as theyd like to make up for the time being.

4. Routine(for(dealing(with(students(who(come(to(class(without(necessary(materials:(

Students that come to gym without proper attire (t-shirt, shorts, and sneakers) will be docked half of their daily points. If they come in clothes that completely prevents them from participating during
the class time they will be asked to sit out and lose all of their points for the day. If this continues to happen a phone call will be made home to ask why their child isnt bringing the right clothes for
gym class( and to let them know how it damages their grade every time they dont dress out correctly. They will be allowed to make up missed points by coming in before or after school and walking/
running laps for as many points as theyd like to make up for the time being.

5. Routine(for(dealing(with(students(returning(after(an(absence:(
I will print out my lesson plan of the activity we did during their absence. They will be expected to read the rules and instruction for the activity in case we play it again. They too will have the option to
make up lost
( points for missing class, unless they miss class for participating in a school sport.

6. Routine(for(wrapping(up(at(end(of(day/class:(
Just like I did before coming into the gym, I will give them five minutes before the scheduled class is over to get changed and ready to move on to their next class. Before dismissing them to the
locker room
( they must make sure all equipment is picked up and put back just like they saw it when they first came into the gym. Once they get into the locker room and changed they must remain
inside the locker room until the bell dismisses them for the next class.

7. Routine(for(dismissal:(
Students MUST wait on me to dismiss them to the locker room. Any student that leaves early will get points deducted. Once it is the right time and all equipment is picked up they will be allowed to
go to the locker
room to change. Once they are fully changed they must patiently remain the locker room and wait for the bell to dismiss them. Any student that gets caught wandering the halls or
(
trying to leave before the bell has rung will first be warned and then get points taken away if it continues to happen.

Procedures(for(Managing(Student(Work:(
1. Procedures(for(assigning(classwork(and(homework:(
At the beginning of each unit I will provide my students with a questionnaire for them to fill out and bring back by the next class period. This will give the students a chance to get more background
knowledge on the activity they are participating in throughout the unit. It wont be more than five questions to fill out as I dont want to push them away from what gym class is really about.

2. Procedures(for(collecting(completed(work:(
I will collect their completed work at the beginning of the class as they are coming into the gym. They will be expected to individually hand me their assignments so I have an idea on who has or
has not done
( the assignment. Then I will ask them what they found through research and any other interesting facts that they came across. Having them do this kind of research can also help them
with other classes and discussing it with the class can help improve their social skills as well.

3. Procedures(for(keeping(records(and(providing(feedback(to(students:(
I will enter assignment grades and daily points as soon as that class time is over and I am waiting for the next class to begin. I want to make sure the grades are in as soon as possible so students
or parents
( never have to wonder about grades. This also makes it easier on me so Im not trying to add up every students points for the week. If students or parents ever want to know grades I
will also have updated sheet to discuss with them.

4. Procedures(and(policies(for(dealing(with(late(and(missing(assignments:(
Any late assignment turned in will automatically lose points, unless they missed the class due to an absence. The students will have until the unit is over to complete any late work, after that it will
become (a zero in the grade book and can no longer be made up. If the student continues to hand in late assignments or just wont do them period, a parent/teacher conference may be set up to
discuss what is going on.

(
Procedures(for(Managing(Independent(Work(Periods:(
While students are doing an activity I just demonstrated for them, I will walk around the gym and assess their comprehension of the directions and demonstration. I will offer encouraging feedback

( to students doing it correctly, and critique them in an appropriate manner if I see something wrong.
