Engage:
The teacher and students will begin the lesson by reviewing the
linking chart along with the phonics song. Next the teacher will
explain the Clip and Learn Beginning Sounds activity. For this
activity there will be a round paper wheel with different farm
animals and objects pictured on it. There will also be clothespins
with the beginning sound for each picture presented on the
wheel. Each student will take turns sounding out the words on
the wheel, and clipping the correct beginning sound on the
clothespin to the wheel.
