Grounded in community service, ‘our internships and practicums provide unique and dynamic ‘opportunities to learn, explore, and address critical social issues impacting communities around the world. CCS internships and practicums are supported by 2 comprehensive reflective process, relevant cultural activities, and free time for selfguided exploration, The result is an immersive and challenging internship or practicum. During the pre-departure process, CCS staff dedicates time and expertise to ensure the best possible match between a student's interests and community goals, and to ensure that the learning goals are attainable. The work placement is determined after a thorough review of each student's skills, interests, and learning goals, as well as the specific needs of the community. Our internships and practicums leverage CCS's enduring presence in the communities where we work, Our Country Directors, themselves service experts, ensure that participants make a difference by supporting and contributing to sustainable strategies designed by and for the community. CCS offers the opportunity to work side-by-side with local people to support community-led organizations, such as childcare centers, schools, health clinics and hospitals, homes for the elderly, centers for people with disabilities, and other local initiatives. CCS internships and practicums are supported by a comprehensive reflective process, socio-cultural ‘contextual learning, and time for self-guided exploration. CCS staff will help to complete documentation for earned hours or special projects. CCS offer interns and practicum students the option of either the unique CCS Home-Base or homestays with local families. For students who are interested in public health, but who are not seeking practicum hours toward public health degre requirements ‘At your work assignment, you'll be paited with a community mentor who's an expert in your chosen intern area. With your community mentor, you'll explore the structures and systems surrounding the delivery of health care services, and have opportunities to contribute to the community organization in a meaningful way. Internships include a well-rounded reflective process, incorporating both group and individual, informal and formal reflection, For individuals who are currently pursuing a degree in public health. CCS works with university public health offices to meet supervisory requirements. Each participant is supported by a practicum supervisor, chosen specifically for their expertise, education, and position in the community. The practicum supervisor guides the learning process, provides professional references in the community to supportany required research, and carefully monitors progress throughout the program, ensuring that participants move toward achieving desired learning goals.
