4. Final product:
You have to do a video (1min) to make people aware of the importance of wearing a
helmet when driving a bike and a little informational flyer with all the information
summarized in three parts.

5. Learning goals:
.

a. To become aware of the importance of wearing a helmet in our travel habits


and how it can help us to prevent injuries.
b. To explain how an accident can affect our body, our brain, our vertebral
column, our locomotor system in general and what can be the consequences of
a serious accident.
c. To learn the most important traffic rules for bikers using MUST, MUSNT,
SHOULD or HAVE TO.

6. Distribution of time (sessions of 1 h):


Session 1: Exchange of ideas, brain storming, creation of your mind map and
distribution of tasks.
Session 2: Read, look for the information and take notes.
Session 3: Share ideas and decide which you will include to elaborate the definite
lines of your products.
Session 4, 5, 6: Start solving the tasks
Session 7: Expositions by groups, presentation of the video and flyers

7. Tasks to be done:
1. Create a mental map with vocabulary related to the problem with a
minimum of 20 words related to accidents, parts of our body, injuries, traffic
rules and regulations (on a A3 sheet)
2. Draw a brain and explain what controls in our body (on a cardboard folder,
left part)
3. Draw the picture of a bike helmet, explain how it works and what are the
advantages (5) of wearing or not a helmet. ( on the same cardboard folder, right
part)
4. Write a report of 20 lines that shows what can be the biggest injuries in case
of a serious bike accident and find an statistic of how many people died in 2014
after a bike accident in the streets of NY (on a A4 sheet)
4. Final product: a video and a flyer
