Spiritual Formation is the process by which the

pursuit of knowing God and being transformed

by His truth that drives the ministry of Spiritual
Formation at Grand Parkway.

We pursue Christ through many avenues but

of Spiritual Formation: Bible Communities,
Community Groups, and Mid-Week Studies. In
these various settings, the Spiritual Formation
ministry exists to glorify God by providing

WORSHIP
Worship is the great privilege and responsibility of the
church. It is how we engage with God. Paul told the church
in Ephesus to speak to one another in psalms and hymns
and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord
with your heart (Ephesians 5:18-19). All the singing and
making melody is a result of the work of the Holy Spirit. We
believe that worship is a result of our salvation in Jesus and
is fueled by the Holy Spirit. Worship is a consequence of
reading Gods Word, to which we respond as we see the
nature of God, what He has done, what He is doing, and
what He will do. We put great value on the public reading
of the Bible because this is where God has revealed Himself
most clearly. Everything we do in our worship service is built
around magnifying Gods greatness.

MISSIONS
Missions, at the core of its definition, is a sending out of people
with authority to share the amazing news of Jesus Christ. When
you look at it that way, its what were called to do as Christians.
In Jesus famous words at the end of the gospel of Matthew,
he says to his followers that as they are going into the world,
he wants them to make disciples of people in all nations and
baptize them and teach them to follow Jesus. We do that as we
shop or exercise or work as teachers or doctors or accountants.
There are also times where we should step out of our routine
and go to one of those nations, especially those where there
are many people who have yet to hear the name of Jesus.

At Grand Parkway, we believe that missions is not an option; it

is a choice to be obedient to Gods command. We also believe

that God has led us to some incredible opportunities to go

to our city and to our world and use the gifts and talents hes
given in order to live out the passionate plan Jesus has for
making sure the nations hear of his name and truth.

In some of His last words on earth, Jesus spoke to His followers

about a very specific plan for them after He ascended back to
Heaven. In Acts 1:8 He told them, But you will receive power
when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My
witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and
even to the remotest part of the earth. Based on this passage,
we understand our calling in Gods mission to be focused on
local missions, state and national missions, and international
missions. In India were partnered with House of Love
orphanage and a micro industry in an area where Christians
have been severely persecuted.

It seems the future of our existence rests on how we define
ourselves, or more importantly, how the Bible defines us. At
Grand Parkway, the Mens Ministry accepts you for who you
are: broken, yet redeemed; wandering, yet with purpose;
perfect, yet being perfected. We also realize that we are not
yet who God calls us to be. And although life can sometimes
be overwhelming, the Mens Ministry seeks to be a place of
encouragement, challenge, and refuge for all men who call
Grand Parkway home.
