Rhetorical Knowledge
Before this class, I believe that all the papers that I have written were
for the teachers only. However, after I have learned rhetorical knowledge in
this class I have the opportunity to choose my audience as well as the
purpose of the paper. Rhetorical knowledge is important for the reason that it
will define the audience, purpose and genre as well. In addition, the writer
will be able to compose different range of text. The people who would need
these skills in their career would be news reporters, presenters and teachers.
Due to the fact that Rhetorical Knowledge also allows to you the shift voice
and tone it is possible that I use Rhetorical Knowledge in the future when I
want to write a paper that contains its own writing process and approach
Critical Reflection
To me this is the first time I release the importance of critical reflection.
Before this class, I have not done this skills before. However, while I am
taken this class my opinion about critical reflection has change. In these
days, I believe that critical reflection is so important owing to the fact that it
will take my writing into next level
Knowledge of Conventions
I used to know knowledge of conventions before this class when I was
studying English in English Language Training Institute (ELTI) at UNC Charlotte. I
have done some citation, quotation and MLA format for the first time of my
life. Since I have not written anything in my native language before, which is
Arabic. However, I believe that knowledge of conventions are important due

the fact that the readers want to see well organized paper with correct
spelling. In my opinion, the knowledge of conventions has the ability to
influence the readers in somehow. When I

use citation, for example, it

means that I have sources support my claims or I am doing fair use and
copyright. The people who would need these skills in their career would be
students, teachers, and researchers. In the near future, I will be using
knowledge of conventions to organize my papers and make them clearer.
Part 4
Critical Reading
Before this course, the writing experiences that helped me
understand this learning outcome was when I was student in English
Language Training Institute (ELTI) at UNC Charlotte. I have practiced critical

with my classmate. We were always sitting together to get benefits from


each other. Since, we both believe that two heads better than one. The
assignments in this course that helped me understand this learning outcome
was the first reasoned we took in this course Summary and Response to
Murray. In addition to Amy Tan's "Mother Tongue", The Joy of Reading and
Writing: Superman and Me, Disliking Books, Scholarship Boy and peer
reviews.
Composing Processes
Before this course, the writing experiences that helped me understand
this learning outcome was writing some simple essays while I was studying
English as my second language.
The assignments in this course that helped me understand this learning
outcome was literacy project, invention draft and peer review for each
project I have done.

me understand this learning outcome. The assignments in this course that
helped me understand this learning outcome was the remediation project.
This is actually my first time that I transformed paper into PowerPoint file and
then presented it to others.
