Magazine Checklist

Basics
Magazine has a compelling title.
All images on site (VMA articles excepted) are original works or creative
commons licensed.
Navigation Menu allows creates comfortable and intuitive viewer experience.
Typography is legible and attractive and consistent throughout site:

All Feature Content titles are same font/size/style.

All subtitles are same font/size/style.

All essay/body text is same font/size/style.

All bylines (author names) are same font/size/style.

All pull quotes are same font/size/style.


Page layout obeys reader gravity.
Hyperlinks work.
Proofread entire site for typos.
Content
Intro article is well-written, informative, orients reader to the magazines
purpose and structure, and piques audiences interest.
Each VMA lives on its own page.
All VMA article page layout is consistent with each other (purposeful variations
allowed).
Block paragraphing (recommended).
Subtitle and pull quotes aim to create interest and frame readers expectations.
Images/media analyzed in the essays are thoughtfully placed on article page.
Body text columns are not too narrow or too wide for comfortable reading.
Plagiarism pages are designed in a manner appropriate to the individual
plagiarism.
Extra content pages are designed thoughtfully, creating coherence with rest of
site (e.g. a text-based content piece should look similar to the VMA article
pages).
Citations, when appropriate are hyperlinked, and links are double-checked for
accuracy.
Art
Take credit for any original art created through a credit line or caption.
Any and all Creative Commons licensed art that required attribution is
attributed.
Art/images are attractive, aim to enhance and conceptualize the content.
