Hello wonderful scientists,

Well done for working so hard this week - we managed to cover a lot of new concepts in just a few lessons and
we got through some practicals.
Friendly reminder...
* On Monday we will be analyzing your "Rusty Nail" investigations and doing a revision quiz.
* 10CPS - you have your test on Tuesday
* 10WSJ/WJS/SWJ/.... you know who you are (!) .... your test is on Wed
* 10SNJ - your test is on Thurs
A few of you have told me that you are going to be absent on the planned day of your test and I've told you
when you'll be doing it instead.
In the meantime - make sure that you study the following:
*properties of metals & their meanings
*chemical vs physical properties
*BASW, CASCOW, MASH, MOMO - be able to expand these equations and state what the reactants and
expected products are
*be able to write equations for the above using actual names of acids, bases etc.
*examples of weak/strong acids/bases
*understanding the colours & pH values using universal indicator
*what is an ion and why they have the charges that they have. e.g., what does the charge on Ca2+ tell you?
*writing formulae of compounds (using "swap & drop")
*how tooth decay can be reduced (3 ways & why they work)
*acid rain - causes & effects
Happy studying!
Any questions - please email me and I will reply as soon as I can.
See you on Monday,
Mrs. Bird
