The first ad I found was for a part tie technician in Texas, although it would
be a move, judging by the description it would be a pretty easy job to get.
There is only one year of suggested work experience. Part-time would be a
great option for anyone who also has a family/kids.

Part-time
South Austin Orthopedic Surgeon's office is looking for a part-time licensed X-ray technician to work
clinic hours Monday - Friday. This position is part-time, working only as needed to support clinic
operations. Position will average 24-30 hours per week, working during typical office hours Monday Friday.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not
intended to be all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.

Performs timely radiology procedures for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending
physician

Performs necessary quality control procedures to ensure quality exams are performed

Prepares patients for radiologic procedures and follows established clinical and regulatory
procedures in regards to patient safety and care; including proper radiation protection and
shielding techniques.

Ensures that equipment is in proper working order and reports any malfunctions to the Area
Manager or provider on duty.

Follows documentation procedures and completes required documentation related to patient


visit.

Assumes responsibility for maintaining and improving diagnostic imaging knowledge and skills
with the support and assistance of outside educational resources

Responsible for maintaining current licensure and certification for the facility radiology
equipment and licensure

Welcome all patients and visitors by greeting them in person, answer inquires and direct them
through the registration process.

Answer multi-line phones, filing, faxing, scanning documentation and completing daily patient

callbacks.

Check in and discharge patients, assist clinical staff and close the office at the end of each
shift.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent

Valid State License to perform X-rays

Two years training in an accredited school for Radiology Technology, basic x-ray experience
required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid State License to perform X-rays

Valid BLS certification

The second ad I found is a lot closer to home and is a full-time position. I like the
emphasis on someone who is friendly. I also like that they put they are willing to
provide work experience rather than only take someone who already has it. It seems
like a good job to get ones foot in the door.

a patient walks through our door. GoHealth Rad Techs work hand-in-hand with our MD, NP, and PA
providers, with responsibilities including registering patients at intake, collecting and processing
payments, assisting with medical tests, and following up with patients and health insurers by phone.

Position Summary:
Operates x-ray and auxiliary equipment processes images; maintains and cleans equipment.
Maintains required documentation. Functions as a medical office assistant, to include intake,
hospitality and medical assist functions.
Job responsibilities include:
Prepares patient for exam.
To relieve patient of pre-testing anxiety, translates examination into layman terms based on
professional knowledge.
Ensures consent form for procedure is obtained if necessary.
Performs various x-ray exams according to established standards, procedures and procedures of the
division.
Positions patient for taking of radiographs according to the departmental standard operating
procedures.
Arranges, attaches, or adjusts immobilization and supportive devices for patients.
Adjusts the x-ray equipment and operates controls to obtain correct exposure Monitors patients
condition in accordance with technical and safety standards.
Recognizes and promptly reports patients motor abnormalities; including, fainting, discoloration,
contrast reactions etc., to the Radiologist. Keys in Patient history data and other pertinent information
obtained from requisition. Monitors patients condition during the procedure.
Operates equipment for transferring computed images to film and archival of disc memory to tape.
Processes and maintains exposed images.
Labels film for identification and maintains required records.
Utilizes film markers and ensures images are properly marked as the right or left side.
Ensures images are legibly labeled with correct date and patient identification. Enters the exam onto
the daily log sheet as needed.
Properly completes the correct tracking steps for each examination. Performs phlebotomy, specimen
labeling and handling, and CLIA-waived lab testing. Follows up on test results and interacts with
clinicians and patients as directed. Provides intake and welcome services including management of
registration data, vital signs patient relocation within the facility
Provides a variety of hospitality services including call-back assessments
Performs related duties, as required.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology
program, required. Washington or Oregon State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic
Technologist, required. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration, required for
positions filled after April 18, 2010
Phlebotomy and or medical office assistant experience preferred but will train to needed competency
