Mr. Crafts Math Class

Welcome to the wonderful world of Mathematics! In our Math class, we will explore many different
topics relating to real-world concepts. As each day approaches us, we will communicate and
develop a rapport that I hope will last us a lifetime! My goal is for each of you to learn and increase
your Math assessment scores across ALL topics! Together, we can and will make this happen!
Supplies

Bound composition book

Several #2 pencils
3 Prong Folders
Loose Leaf Paper
*Requested items: Box of tissue, hand sanitizer

Math Notebook
Each student is required to have a math notebook. The notebook should contain dividers labeled
with the following sections:
- Warm-up
- Notes
- Classwork - Glossary
In addition to these items, the student should maintain all hand-outs, a copy of math standards,
and math syllabus in his/her math notebook. This notebook should only contain items
pertaining to math class. A copy of the math standards and the glossary will be provided by
Mr. Craft.
Notebooks will be checked every three weeks; therefore, students are responsible for completing
all work assigned whether they are present or absent. When students are absent, it is their
responsibility to ensure that they receive all missing notes and assignments. Students should
maintain all returned assignments in their math noteb00k behind the appropriate divider in
sequential order.

Classwork
In-class assignments are assigned regularly and should be completed during class. However, a
student may be allowed to take an incomplete assignment home to complete in addition to any
other homework assigned. If so, the assignment is due upon arrival in math class. Any
assignment not completed by the designated time will be considered late and will be penalized
as such. Work is not considered complete until the student has carefully checked and/or revised
his/her work. All work should be shown and explained.

Behavior
I expect all students to do their best with every lesson and to ask for additional assistance with
lessons they may find difficult to understand (FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION! I TRULY
BELIEVE THAT ALL CHILDREN CAN LEARN). Below are the class standards that follow very
closely to the school standards for behavior. Students are expected to follow both the school
standards and the classroom standards for behavior wherever they are.

Standards for Student Behavior

1. Be on time to class and sit at your assigned desks.
2. Bring all required materials to class every day.
3. Listen and follow directions.
4. Raise your hand before speaking or leaving your seat.
5. Respect your classmates and your teacher.
6. Keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself.

Consequences
Consequences will be given based on the action. Positive consequences may include tickets (for
surprise treats), problem-solving time, extra credit points, etc. Negative consequences may
include parent phone calls, in-team suspension, office referrals, etc.
*Please see the student handbook/agenda for information on all school rules and information on
school policies.
