Introduction
Management in all business areas and organizational activities are the acts of getting
people together to accomplish desired goals and objectives efficiently and effectively. It infers a
clear and precise identification of duties and responsibilities, flow of authority and manpower
level requirement. Management is to make every action and decision towards the attainment of
goals. To achieve optimum level of effectiveness, management must be able to plan all activities
for the company to become productive and competitive industry through human resource,
financial capability and new technologies.
Importance of Management
The success of any business depends heavily on the effectiveness of its management A
good management needs to make the right decisions and ensure that the business will be able to
exploit any opportunities open to it and at the same time protect its business by anticipating and
acting against any threats to its welfare.
Form of Ownership
The type of business ownership will be a partnership; in which partners pool money,
skills, and other resources, and share profit and loss in accordance with the terms of the
partnership agreement. In the absence of such agreement, a partnership is assumed to exit where
the participants in an enterprise agree to share the associated risks and rewards proportionately.
Complementary skills and additional contacts of each pattern can lead to the achievement of
greater financial results together than would be possible apart. Mutual support and motivation are
needed for the business to last longer.
Functions of Management
Planning
Planning involves setting and figuring out ways of reaching them. Planning considered
the central function of management, pervade everything a management does. In planning,
manager does. In planning, managers look for the future decision making is usually a component
because choice have to be made in the process of finalizing plans. The importance of planning
expands as it contributes heavily to performing the other management functions.
Organizing
Refers to the ways the organization allocates resources, assign tasks, and goes about
accomplishing its goals. In the process of organizing, managers arrange a support that links all
workers, tasks, and resources together so the organizational goals can be achieved.
Staffing
Staffing is filling and keeping filled with trained with trained people all position in the
business recruitment, hiring, training, evaluating and compensating are the specific activities
included in the function.
Directing
Directing is the progression that many people would most related to managing it is
supervising, or leading workers to accomplishing the goals of the organization. In many
organizations, directing involves making assignment, assisting workers to carry out assignment,
interpreting organization policies, and informing workers of how well they are performing.
