1. INTRODUCTION
1.1. How to use this document
Internal Note: This document was prepared for internal use. For a project version
of this document, local units are responsible for deleting all GPEC, ALU internal
references (names, engineer names, links etc.) and converting the document to
PDF format.

1.2. Scope of this document


This document was prepared by ALU GPEC FIXED ACCESS Team. The objective is to
provide detailed information for backup & restore of the product 7302 FD
ISAM/ISAM-V, 7330 ISAM FTTN, 7360 ISAM R4.3, R4.3.01 & R4.3.02 releases on 5520
AMS R9.1 at the customer premises. The document gives all the information needed
for preparation, backup and restore procedures of the related ISAM releases in
service.

This is the list of items recommended to take with you while going on site. Go
through this list before you go to a worksite. Fill the Box configuration table
before going to site.

3. SCHEDULE
A schedule simply allows you to complete a task at a specific time or to repeat a
task for a specified number of times in a period. You can also create complex
schedules to repeat a task on specific days of week or months.
After you create a simple schedule, you can assign the schedule to 5520 AMS tasks,
such as downloading or activating software files, and backing up or restoring the
database.

3.1. Backup & Restore Checklist

3.2. Create a Schedule


1. Click on the open perspective button on upper-left side of AMS GUI main
screen and choose Scheduler from open scheduler perspective.

2. Click on the Add Schedule button on Schedule menu.

3. Configure the scheduler that satisfies your requirements.


Scheduler Name and Start Date/Time are mandatory parameters but End
Date/Time is not. If you do not determine any time, schedule will be in use
forever since its state is active. In order to hang the tasks scheduled, you can easily
switch the state to suspend.

started from August 11th, 2011.

3.3. Delete Schedule


You can delete a schedule that is not in use. If there is any task associated to this
schedule, first you have to unscheduled these jobs clicking Unschedule Job
button at lower-right side of the screen

4. BACK-UP
The 5520 AMS allows you to back up or restore the selected NE database.
The Backup view displays the available NEs that you can backup and restore. You
can perform a backup and restore operation at the Access Network level or from
the individual NE.
Optionally, you can apply preconfigured schedules to perform backup operations.
Check Create a Schedule for detailed information and the procedures to set up
scheduled backup activities.
Or easily select one or multiple NEs on the network tree and right click on one of
the selected NEs then navigate to Backup & Restore click on Backup.
1. Click on the open perspective button on AMS GUI main screen and choose
Backup Restore to open backup restore perspective. You can also right
click on the NE and select Backup & Restore.

2. Click on Backup on Backup Restore Tasks Tasks perspective and add the
NEs that you would like to have backup.

Apply one of the filters below and choose the NEs those you will backup.

3. If you would like to perform operation now, leave schedule option as it is and
click Finish or you can associate this task with a preconfigured schedule.

5. RESTORE
This part contains the list of the items should be changed or updated on related

Apply one of the filters below and choose the NE that you will restore.

3. Choose one of the backups that you have already created for related NE.
If there is no backup file displayed, it means there is no database to restore
for this particular NE.

NE restore is a service affecting operation. If you would like to perform this


operation anyway, click YES on following warning message to start NE restore.
