On Friday, I am going to go home at 3:50 p.m. I

am going to go to a fast food restaurant at 5:30 p.m. I
am going to go to a movie at 7:00 p.m. I am going to eat
at home at 9:00 p.m. I am going to sleep at 11:30 p.m.
On Saturday, I am going to cook at 1:00 p.m. I
am going to go to Atlanta at 3:00 p.m. I am going to eat
in Atlanta at 8:00 p.m. I am going to go to a hotel at 9:00
p.m.
On Monday, I am going to go to a movie at 6:00
p.m. I am going to go to a park at 7:30 p.m. I am going to
come back to Nashville at 9:00 p.m.

My home city is Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It is on

the west side of Saudi Arabia. It is bigger than Makkah
al-Mukarramah. It is smaller than Riyadh.
Jeddah has the tallest fountain in the world and
the tallest flagpole. Also, there is a mosque on the sea.
I like living in Jeddah. First, it is easy access to
shopping and different kinds of restaurants. Second, it
has a lot of kinds of jobs available. Third, it has good
hospitals and medical care. Finally, all of my family lives
there. But there are a few disadvantages, like it is very
crowded and the weather is very hot. I really miss
Jeddah and my family.
Jeddah is less exciting than the United States,
but I love my city. It is my home.

My City

My home city is Makkah. Its smaller than
Riyadh, which is the capital city in Saudi Arabia.
Makkah has the biggest mosque in the world. As
you see in the picture, there is the mosque and the
tallest clock in the world. All Muslim people pray towards
Makkah. The mosque is close to my home. It only takes
me 30 minutes to arrive there.
Makkah is not expensive. Its a really nice place
to live. I love my city so much.

Is Technology Always Helpful and Good?

I agree that technology is important for
everything because the systems work fast, more
intelligently, and provide good answers to questions. The
technology is important for both big and small jobs. Now
the technology is for kids, too, because people have
invented different games and toys.
However, I think technology is a little bit of a
problem because for every apparatus I need the
Internet. For the kids, it is more of a problem because
they play inside the home all the time and they dont play
outside.
In conclusion, I think technology is important for
big jobs because it is helpful for everything in your family
and it helps people in different activities. Today the
technology is extensive.

I agree because guns are important in our lives.

For instance, they keep a lot of people safe and out of
danger. In addition, they protect many people from theft.
Moreover, police have them because they must keep
people safe from other people or countries. Furthermore,
guns are a good idea to keep banks or peoples money
safe. In addition, guns are important for the army and
soldiers. In summary, if you do not have guns, your
family is not safe.
However, I disagree because guns give some
people power and keep them strong. They are fearless.
This is not good because bad people want anything. For
example, if you do not have money, they will go to the
bank and steal from it. In addition, if they do anything
wrong, a lot of people are scared of the danger. In
conclusion, not everyone should have guns.

First, my opinion is that guns do not make you

safe. Rather, it is how you use guns. If good people have
them, we will be safe. However, if guns are with bad
people, there is danger because they have a reason to
kill us. I use a gun to keep myself safe from them.
Consider what happened two days ago: a bad person
had a gun and he had a reason in his mind to kill those
who didnt like him. Why? I dont know. For me, if I dont
like what they are doing, that doesnt mean I must make
him stop. However, I can keep myself from them. Why
would I go to a place where I dont like what they are
doing inside? In my opinion, those who want to kill
people create reasons to do that. They will do it if they
use a gun or another weapon. In the end, guns make
your life safe from those who want to kill you.

WRITING THREE
Home or Apartment?

When I lived in Brazil I always
lived in an apartment. I have never lived
in a house. In an apartment, you have
many neighbors and a concierge. In my
building there was a swimming pool,
sports courts, and a party room. I liked
living in an apartment.
Now I live in a home, and it is
very different. My home has three
bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and
two bathrooms. I like to live in a home
because now I have a double bed, one
game room, and one place where I have
parties with my friends. These are things
that I didnt have in my apartment
because of the neighbors.
If I were to choose where I
would live, Id choose living in a home. I
like living in a home. I can make noise
all night!!

A Big Test

All of the people are afraid of
tests. Some people do not sleep, some
people just think, and some do not eat
anything. If they see the goal they return
to normal.
First, the best way for me to
study for a big test is to get my thinking
and body ready for the test. I am afraid
when the test is near, and I do strange
things before the test. First, I clean my
home, moreover was the clothes, and I
cook delicious food. Then I try to
understand all the material in the subject
I am studying. If there is something I do
not understand, I call my friends. I try to
be quiet because sometimes I am
nervous. Sometimes I feel I will not pass
some subject. When I think I will not
pass, I am only eating. If I do not
change I will become fat.
In conclusion, I want to say to
everyone do not lose hope and
continue. I hope this term I pass all of
my subjects.

The Best Way to Study for a Big Test

Many people are worried about tests. But you
have to study very well; for example, you should take a
breath and you can do it. First, just review the section
and drink some coffee. Second, you can take notes and
write everything in your mind. Then you can remember
what you studied. After that you can focus more. Be
safe, comfortable, and relaxed. I dont like to take tests
because they make me worry. I cant do other things like
watch TV. Also, I cant sleep very well because I know I
have to study hard. But I like to study because then I can
pass the class, and get a nice job in the future. I think if
you are ready for the test you will do find. Its just like
practice. After I take a test I will feel better. Then I can
do other things such as go to a movie, watch TV, take a
bath, draw, sew, and cook. You should study very hard,
and I hope you have good luck on your tests.

The Best Way to Study

I will give my opinion about how to study for a
big test. First, I go to Kroger. Then I buy a pen, small
cards, and a highlighter for study tools. And I buy candy,
healthy food, and coffee to help me focus when I study.
Then I refresh my mind. I choose the section of material
I will study for that day. After that I write my notes on the
small cards and use a highlighter to mark the words that
are difficult for me. My mother told me to eat healthy
food because it give me energy and helps me get a
grade of A. She also told me to look at something
orange because this color is good for my eyes. That is
my best way to study and do very well on a test.

Memorial Day Weekend

After school on Friday I went to the mall
because I needed to do some shopping. I bought a Tshirt, dress, and shoes. And I bought my son shorts, a
hat, and sandals. It is very nice because it is summer
now. After shopping we ate lunch with my family in a
restaurant The Cheesecake Factory. I ate pasta and
drank orange juice. I liked it. Then we went back to the
house.
On Saturday, we went to the part with my friends
in the afternoon. We ate BBQ with them. My son played
in the park. I enjoyed this day.
On Sunday, I visited my friend. We drank coffee
and ate cake. I visited my friend because I miss her.
After this, we ate lunch. We had rice and meat, and it
was delicious. She is a very good cook.
On Monday, I stayed at my home because I
studied homework and went to sleep early because on
Tuesday we went to school.
In conclusion, I enjoyed last weekend because I
saw my friend.

My Family
Dalal Alshamrani (Saudi Arabia)
In fact, the family is an important part of a
community. In addition, families give strength and ties to
the people around them.
So, now I want to talk about my family. I have
three sons, my husband, and me. My eldest son is
Battal. He is eleven years old. He loves soccer and
karate. Also, Battal has a yellow belt. My second son is
Mohammed. I love him so much. He loves to help people
and to draw. Mohammed is a nice boy, and he is very
friendly. The last one is my baby. His name is Ahamad.
He is very cute and a year and a half old.
My husbands name is Hamed, and he is thirtythree years old. I married him twelve years ago.
Sometimes I feel I have only been married to my
husband for just one year. He loves reading, and he
knows a lot of information about everything. So, finally I
love my family very much.

Graduation from High School

Last year in grade 12 I went to Egypt and
I studied in Cairo for five months. I did not
like the school in Egypt. When I went to
Gaza on vacation, I decided to stop
studying in Egypt and go to school in Gaza.
Going to school in Gaza was the hardest
three months of that year for me. I had
decided to study in Gaza, but all of the
people told me that I would fail. I didnt
listen to anybody and I studied and played.
I was very confident that I could do it. I took
ten exams that were very hard, but I
believed in myself. Results appeared and I
got a 74. All of the people felt amazed. How
did you do it? But I did not feel happy about
my graduation because the war had begun.
This experience taught me to trust in myself
and I can do it. I will thank my mom
because she stood next to me and
encouraged me to do it.

Lost in the Desert

Mohamed Alghayhab (Saudi Arabia)
One day in the summer of 2007 my
friends and I were sitting in the desert.
There were seven of us. At 11:00 a.m. I
decided to go back home because I forgot
that my mother needed to go to the
hospital. I knew the way back, but on the
way home I saw a fox. I went to see it, but
my car got stuck in the mud. First, I tried to
get it out of the mud. After three hours I still
couldnt get it out. So, I decided to just sit in
the car until someone came. I believe you
will die if you leave your car and start
walking on foot in the desert. I used to put
enough food in the car for five people for
seven days whenever I wanted to go to the
desert. I waited another three hours in the
car and no other cars came. Then I decided
to go up the mountain near the place I was.
I took enough water and some food, and I
then went to the mountain. I was on my
way when I saw a car and began waving.
They came to help me. There were three
men, so I finally got out of the mud and left.
I am thankful for the strangers who helped
me!

Passion In Life

Have you ever felt very strongly about a person or something that you really like? Everyone has a passion inside of them.
Anyone who has succeeded in making a name for themselves would probably state their passion for their work, craft, or industry as a
reason for their success. There are many passions in our life. In my life, I have passion for my future which includes my job, learning
English, and reading.
First, the job is the most important thing in our life. Everyone wants to be successful in their job. Though, everyone has a
variety of jobs, whatever they want to do. Are you passionate about your job? Do you get excited every morning about going to work?
In fact, if you are going to be your most successful, you have to be passionate. For example, everyday, you wake up in the morning to
fight through traffic jams and get to the office. If you are passionate in your job, that behavior is normal for you. There are always
going to be things that arent fun. Changing your mindset here can make it more fun, too. Instead of doing the accounts or paying
the bills, call it something fun like feeding the monkeys . In addition, ask yourself, How are you going to play instead of going to
work? Bill Gates is passionate about his job. He was successful, and he is a famous person around the world because of Microsoft,
the company which he created.
Second, people nowadays should study at least one foreign language to increase their abilities. English is an international
language which is used officially all around the world. For instance, for me, I have been learning English for 7 years. When I studied
in the middle school, I wanted to speak English well. By that time, I started to study English very hard. When I was in high school, I
wanted to study abroad in the US. Because of this, I needed to develop a passion for English. Additionally, if I have great English
skills, maybe I will get a lot of money from my job. I also could make a lot of friends around the world. In addition, English as a
subject is the most popular in our life. We use it for science. When scientists in different countries want to communicate, they use
English. We use it for business and relationships. Learning English is a passion in my life.
Finally, reading is one of the few activities that allows an individual to have visions, experiences, and emotion through their
own sense of interpretation. Some people like to read different kinds of books. If you are a reader, you can learn everything from a
book. Reading also allows development of the mind. For me, I can read in my free time or after school. It makes me feel comfortable
after a long day. When I read a book, I feel like by reading my brain processes more information, and I expand my mind into learning
new vocabulary. I read because I have so much to learn. It also helps me understand real life situations better.
In conclusion, we have a variety of passions in our life. Also, I have passion in my life, which includes my future job, learning
English, and reading as I explained as above. Being passionate is important in life, but it can be a difficult deal, too. These are my
passions, so I will give effort to my passions all of my life.

Education

Do you know how many ways you have to learn? Education means to get information in your mind to help you. You can learn
from school and university, life, and your parents.
First, you can get your education from school and university. For example, a degree is the way to be a new teacher, doctor, or
engineer. You can learn from other people in school. Also, in school you visit museums and you can learn so many different things
from it like history, war, arts, and civilization. In addition, in school you can learn how to do art work. Education can extract a sense
of art rendered inside you. Like types of raw materials, merging color and recycling functions.
Second, the life has so many ways to learn. For instance, every day has a new experience. Starting from the morning, you go
out of your home until the end of the day. Additionally, traveling to another place teaches experience, places, cultures, and habits.
Furthermore, we learn from life difficulties. The death of friends and family is a difficult experience. Life teaches us patience and
constancy.
Finally, your parents are the best teachers. As an illustration, parents stories contain a lot of life experiences. Moreover, we
learn traction from parents. Also, we can learn about punishment and rewards.
All in all, you can get education from your school or university,life, and your parents. So be sure to take dequate education in
this life.

Beauty

What is beauty? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, such as a poem, song,
emotion, etc., which gives you pleasure or joy. There are many types of beauty, including
natural beauty, artistic beauty, and manmade beauty.
First, natural beauty is everywhere. The blue sky, white clouds, green grass,
majestic mountains, and winding lakes. They are on your side when you are outside your house. I have been to Niagara falls, and I
remember when I took a boat toward the falls. I saw a whole solid river that plunged bodily over a cliff, and a few beautiful rainbows
hanging in the sky. The natural beauty deeply shocked me.
A second type of beauty is artistic beauty. For example, the Mona Lisa. Her mysterious smile is famous in the world. Almost
everyone knows the painting and is attracted to her beauty. Another example, every year there are millions of people who visit
Michelangelos David at the Academic Galley. All of the people who saw the statue admire the beauty. The statue shows what is truly
strength and beauty.
Finally, another type of beauty is manmade beauty. For example, the Great Wall in China, Pyramids in Egypt, or the Louvre in
Paris. All of the buildings were all manmade art. They are all like old time, but after thousands of years, they still tell the world the
story of them.
In conclusion, natural beauty, artistic beauty, and manmade beauty are the most important beauties in my opinion. What are

Areas Of Education

In our life, we learn a lot of things in different moments, especially with people. They can help you in good ways, but
sometimes there are bad people that can persuade us to make errors. We have many sources of learning like professional education,
personal education, and religious education.
First, we can learn in the area of professional education. When we go to the school in University, the teacher teaches the class
our majors. For example, I studied business administration. I took a calculus class, accounting, etc. Also, for the University, it is very
important to teach about the ethics, art, and religion because it is a catholic University, and they think that the students should be a
good people in society.
Second, I also think there are more important sources for education like the personal education. Many people in different
countries said the same, that the people are like their family. The family teaches values, rules, feelings, etc. Then they will be kind
with other people, and we will build a good life and be aware of our own actions. In addition, it is very important to select our friends
carefully, because they grow with us and we learn a lot from them. For instance, if your friend likes to study and learn all the time, and
he is polite, it is possibile you will be the same or better.
Finally, when we choose the best way for our life, many people go to the church to learn about values from the Bible. We
shouldnt forget to do good things for other people because this is the most important principle that God teaches us through his word.
When we show love, the people can see who God really is and they may believe in his power and mercy.
In conclusion, I advise people to learn all time that we can go where we want. Always we should be ready to learn from other people
and teach when we can.

How can students get an education? Education is important for all students. Also it is necessary to the future youth. Kinds of
education are lectures, online learning, and internships. All of these are good for students to learn.
First, education by a lecture is easy for the teacher to explain to students. For me, when teacher explains to me face to face, I can
get a lot of information. In my grammar class, the teacher explains, and I can understand. Furthermore, when I see the face the teacher
is making, I feel it easy to get information.
Second, online education is easy for studying. I think it saves time for the students. Also, the homework is easy to write. I think
in the future, we will just study online. Also, I can listen to the lecture anytime. It is easy to open a website.
Finally, an educational internship is very important for science students. They can get a lot of information and experience. In the
internship, a person will teach you how you can do the job. When you do this, you can get experience and information.
In conclusion, education is important for the past, present, and future. As we said, educational lectures, online, and internships
are important in our life. The education doesn't have an end.

Travel by Car or Plane

Do you like to travel by airplane or car? There are some people who prefer to travel by plane, and some people prefer by car.
We can contrast between the time, cost, and service between both forms of transportation.
First, the travel time of an airplane is very fast. For example, I traveled to Nashville from Portland. The time was only three
hours. So, airplane travel is very fast. However, the cost is very expensive. Also, there are some people that are rice. They have
money to buy a ticket. Also, there are more services on an airplane. For instance, once I want to my country, and my son was sick. He
had a fever. I needed help from someone. So, I got service from the flight attendant. In addition, there are other services such as
drinks, food ,and other things.
Second, there are some people who like to travel by cars, but a car travels slowly. To illustrate, my friend traveled by car from
Washington to Nashville. It was a long time, the whole day. However, the cost is very cheap. It doesn't cost more than 500. Unlike
planes, travel by car is very enjoyable. We can see nature, cities, and buildings. Moreover, travel by car doesn't have any service, only
serve yourself. But, anyone enjoys a lot of privacy.
In conclusion, my opinion is travel by airplane and car is beautiful. Also, each one has a fun way. I like to travel by both.
Anyone who likes to travel gets the good feeling, fun, and comfort.

Compare and Contrast Traveling by Car and Airplane

Both a car and airplane has its own enjoyable things for traveling. Travel is the kind of activity, and it is a hobby for some
people which is an important part in their lives to relax and enjoy. There are many differences between traveling by car and airplane.
First of all, traveling by car takes more time because the journey is longer than the airplane's way. For example, when you want
to travel from Nashville to Washington DC, by car, it takes 10 hours without stopping. In contrast, it takes around 2 hours by airplane.
Also, when you travel by airplane, you can not stop in the sky, but by car there are a lot of reasons to stop like traffic, gas
station, accidents by other cars, and rush hours. So then you could save your time by airplane.
In addition, traveling by car costs less money than an airplane. The cost of tickets for an airplane is more expensive compared
with a taxi or car's price. Because, by airplane,in most situations, the journey is longer. Also, an airplane offers a specific service
which you can not find in cars, that's why the cost for an airplane ticket is more expensive.
In conclusion, there are a lot of benefits of traveling by each, car or airplane. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages.
In my opinion, traveling by an airplane is the best choice because you can cross oceans and seas by it, but with car you can not
do it.

Success

Success is within the mind of the individual. A large portion of ones life is spent working to become successful. According to
Dictionary.com, success means a performance or achievement that is marked by success, as by the attainment of honors. But, how
to succeed? Someone can make a good choice, someone has good luck, or someone avoids taking a short cut.
First, success can happen at the right time to do the right things. There are many businessman who follow this rule, so they get
success. For example, Levi Strauss. In 1850, he originally used to make a rough canvas tent for the miners. Then he produced the first
Levi's jeans because the jeans were durable. They quickly gained the miners attention. Another example is In 1973, Gates entered
Harvard University. During Harvard, Gates developed a version of the programming language, and designed the first microcomputer MITS Altair. In his junior year, Gates left Harvard, and he put all their energy into Microsoft. He founded Microsoft in 1975 with
childhood friend Paul Allen together. Gates thought that computers will be a valuable tool, they will appear in every office, every
home desktop, under this concept. They began developing software for personal computers. Gates was responsible for the success of
Microsoft. So in right time, doing the right things can help you catch opportunity.
Second, the goal is the direction for success. For example, The Wright brothers airplane. They made the first controlled
sustained flight of a powered, heavier-than-air aircraft on December 17, 1903, four miles south of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. In
1904-1905 the brothers developed their flying machine into the first practical fixed-wing aircraft. Although not the first to build and
fly experimental aircraft, the Wright brothers were the first to invent aircraft controls that made fixed-wing powered flight possible.
Another example is when his weight tipped the scales at 560 pounds and his marriage collapsed last summer, Indiana-based artist Eric
Hites knew something had to change. He settled on pursuing one drastic measure that would prove to his wife he could take his health
seriously: riding his bike across the country to lose weight. From these two examples, we know a goal is super important.
Third, do not take a shortcut because a shortcut is not very helpful. For example, VW programmed the computers in their cars
to detect when they were undergoing official emissions testing. Only then did the cars turn on their full emission control systems. The
controls are then turned off during actual road use, resulting in better fuel economy and performance, but producing significantly
greater pollutants in violation of U.S. clean air laws. So, they will soon face repairs of 482,000 cars and a maximum fine of $18
billion. Another example is United Airlines Flight 811, which was a regularly scheduled airline flight from Honolulu,
Hawaii to Auckland, New Zealand that experienced a cargo door failure in flight on February 24, 1989. The resulting explosive
decompression blew out several rows of seats, resulting in the deaths of nine passengers. The aircraft returned to Honolulu, where it
landed safely. The above description of the event or design flaw is very irresponsible and dangerous, so there is no shortcut for
success.
In conclusion, success is not just a goal, hard work, or good luck. You also need to know how to catch the opportunity and use
the minimum cost to get the maximum benefit. But do not think about too much and how to get a shortcut. Maybe you will think you
can get success early, but the fact will tell you that is incorrect and make you work and pay more.

Oxforddictionaries.com There are many kinds of education in including schooling, home education, and self education..
First, people have to learn a lot of things in school. For example, when they study the sciences, they will have
experiences in the classes, and be able to touch and see ideas . Another example, when I was a student in high school, my
teachers corrected my mistakes and taught me step by step to develop my knowledge.
Second, another common source of education is home education. For instance, when people watch a documentary
program, they can get new information. Also, yesterday, I watched a movie about the lion lifestyle. Do you know the
lioness feels lonely and sad without lion? You can learn at home by your TV, laptop, magazines, or anything near you. .
Finally, you can find education yourself. If you want to get a good job and grade, there are many ways to get
information like reading a book on a various topics, lectures, and using the electronic device to help you to learn more and
more..
In conclusion, all people need the education to have a good life. Whether it is home education, schooling, or selfeducation. In my opinion, we need all of them in the life because they complement each other.

The Inside of Real Beauty

Do you feel beautiful today? If you are the person who recognizes your own
beauty, you feel comfortable with yourself and this is very important for confidence.
The real beauty comes from inside of us. There are some tips for your own real
beauty to stand out which include smiling, helping others, and being confident.
First, a smile is like a beautiful accessory. When you smile you spread positivism and credibility in others. Participants in
a University of Pittsburgh study rated people who smiled as more credible than people with non-smiling facial expressions.
Moreover, smiling improves your health. One of the reasons, related in inpiyr.com, is because it makes your immune
system stronger by making your body produce white blood cells to help fight illnesses. Your appearance will look radiant.
Second, when you help others, it makes you feel good. Additionally, most of the time, you left a nice impression on
people who you helped because people notice when you are good. Someone is always watching. When I was in my first job
like an interim, I tried to help other people in different areas. One day in a restructure of the company, the marketing
director recommend me for a job that I had been chosen for as a full time job in marketing. She told me that she noticed that
I have an attitude to help even though is was not my work assignment and without salary. It wasnt expected, but helping
others ended up opening a door for me.
Finally, everybody deserves to feel fantastic. Thats why being confident is really important. You project how you feel.
For instance, it is essential that you love your body if you are thin, curvy, tall, or short. You should be happy with your
beautiful body. Also, dont try to be others; like an actress or models. Be yourself because the authenticity will make you a
uniquely beautiful person.
In conclusion, feeling really beautiful helps to increase confidence because real beauty comes from within ourselves. You
just need to highlight your body with a smile, help others, and be confident. If you are a person who does not recognize
your own beauty, I suggest you ask others close to you how they see you. Sometimes others see us better than ourselves.

The education is very important for all people. A lot of people
think that education is just to have a diploma or the education is to reach
people, but it is not like that. The education begins in the house, school,
and work.
First, since we were small kids in our house, our parents have
shown us values to become a better educated person and respect other

courage. All those things we learn in the house. The habits, for instance,
are to greet the people by saying excuse me and good morning. Other
habits include ask and you will recieve, be a friend, be a good example,
be faithful, be kind, and be patient.
Second, in the school we learn how to read and write. Our
teachers show us math, science, and other subjects.
Finally, in our job, the education is very important because the way we are educated, the way we can treat people better.
With better education, we can have batter position and knowledge. In the beginning of my job, I started as a packer. Then
I got experience in other areas. After that, my supervisor put me in another position and then moved me on to a different
position the like wrapper operator where I know knowledge of the machine. Now my salary is better, and I have more
experience in that position. I am able to practice the math, writing, reading, and speak English.
In conclusion, the education is a tool for a better opportunity for a person and can provide better jobs to use a combination
of personal experience, observations of others, and research materials from the Internet.

Education

people have good education in the school, church, and family.
First, when people go to the school, they take special education. For example, they can graduate at different levels and
take a diploma. Also, they can get a good job in the future.
Second, people can get a good education at the church because the pastor gives excellent education. Many people enjoy
this because he talks about good words to communicate with another person or with family because when some people go
to the church, the pastor has excellent experience about God. Also, he can transmit good vocabulary with a lot of people.
Third, another common education for the people is from family. You have good education in your life. For example,
they provide good information for many ways. For instance, family always has a good experience for a long time and
family can teach you how to be a good person with other people. Your family always talks about how to be a better person
with everyone.
In conclusion, fortunately people have three ways the education at the school, church, and family. I think these three

Learning New Things

Learning is very important. Humans must learn whatever way they want. Learning is very important to provide
for generations. There are different things to learn: learning new language, learning new skills, and learning new
sports.
Learning new language lets you identify new people. First, when you travel for learning or for fun, you will
speak and meet new people who live in another country. For example, if you know how to speak the English
language, you will talk with almost everyone because everyone probably speaks English everywhere. Also, you will
not have any problem to talk with new people and you will make many friends. For instance, in your language
institute you will make many friends from different countries.
Learning new skills makes you successful in your ability. For example, when you take cooking class, you will
learn how to cook perfectly. So, if you need to cook pasta for your lunch, you know the steps then you will enjoy
eating when you are done.
Learning new sports is very important for your body. Learning how to swim is good for your body and your
breathing. For example, you will learn how to be under water a long time. Also, to make your body strong and build
your muscles.
In conclusion, there are various things to learn which encompass: learning a new language lets you identify
new people in different countries, learning new skills, and learning new sports. In my opinion, everyone has to learn
without stopping because the life and the time go fast. Also, keep leaning new things everywhere.

We have to send humans to Mars and return them by safe way. We
expect to be around to see it. Some researchers say it's an exciting idea. It is
widely agreed that it could contribute to advancing our understanding of life.
However, NASA costs budget $17.7 billion is hardly enough to cover the
expenses of the Mars.
First, we have to find other way that will be less expensive or we have to
stop supporting NASA. According to president Obama during a 2010 speech at
NASA's Kennedy space center in Florida ("NASA_President"). He is not alone in
looking forward with an excitement to thing event. The possibility of humans on
Mars is thrilling to many people, but the cost is too much. We have to find employers to begin planning in the
United States and sharing the plan with the other countries. Although a mission to Mars would indeed be an
incredible feat, the costs connected with it are a huge number approximately from $20 to $450 billion over the
next 20 years. (Sherriff). NASA's yearly budget of more than $17.7 billion is hardly enough. One example, to
support this idea is we have to share other countries by planning such as sharing the cost and exchange the
staff to get less expensive cost.
In conclusion, the cost to support NASA is difficult and the budget is huge. We have to stop supporting
NASA, and I recommend planning to find solution to this cost. Sharing and planning is important to establish a
good decision. The cost it could increase during the project because of unforeseen complications.

Tracking People

Nowadays, the danger is always lurking around us everyday, and we trust
that the government will protect us in anyway. But they asked us to give up rights
including privacy in exchange for an uncertain safety. It is not a good idea to allow
the government tracking people.
In my opinion, security is not related to privacy. The security for the
people coming from the serious in law enforcement. The government has the
right to inspect everything what they consider to be threats to the community, but
they can not collect private informations such as message content, phone call
recording, internet access history, etc It not only does not help them to prevent dangerous but also increase
the likelihood of stolen personal information for others attacks.
The violence in public places is increasing, it proves that tracking people didnt work for a long time. We need
to stop tracking programs, instead we need the government should enact more gun control laws of the people.
The most important thing of what are they really do is the safety of the data they collected. If someday
they be attacked, a lot of people data will fall into the wrong hands. That will lead to a security disaster that the
government will not be solved.

Reading book on paper or electronics.

Reading books is always a favorite treatment reducing stress,
relaxing and learning knowledge of everybody. Today, the technology
has been developed so that it brings more choices for readers: e-book
or old-fashioned kind. These two kinds of book have its own
advantages, and disadvantages as well. The best option depends on
different factors based on readers' need. In my opinion, the oldfashioned kind of book - reading on paper has more advantages than
the new kind called e-book.
People argue that e-book is cheaper than classic book, it is
also more convenient. They show out a example: an e-book only costs
a half price of its original paper version; and people can carry ab entire
library as in their electronics conveniently wherever they go. In fact, they compare the price of two kinds of book; however,
they should remember if they want to spend time on e-books, they have to buy an electronics and make sure it is charged
fully. An electronics as tablet, laptop or smartphone is expensive; in some situation, an electronics do not have supported
application either. In a long-way trip, the classic book is more convenient obviously than an e-book with electronics and
charger. It is cheaper and good for environment due to recycling. One last thing about the price, classic book can be
borrowed free in any library.
Other people argue that reading on classic books and e-books is the same in bringing no benefit to readers but
knowledge. We should choose reading on e-books to save time and learn more. In fact, reading paper may boost
retention. It is better than for your memory retention and focus. According to the Guardian reported on an experiment from
Norway, people who read information on paper is more likely to remember plot points than others reading on tablet.

eyes train. A classic book can lullaby you to sleep easier than an e-book on electronics, it is better for your eyes than the

Finally, some says classic books and e-books are just book basically, we can choose e-books in order to avoid
the heavy and the space wasted in bag. I believe that readers choose classic books because of the satisfied feelings of
holding a book with bare hands. Tveit said, "paper books are, as a rule, very well designed, they look and smell good, and

irresistible feelings when you hold in hands your favorite books, with the smell of papers, the feelings of touching its
thickness, and its every word is designed carefully in every page. A true "bookaholic" is addicted with these details. An ebook can never bring it on.
The classic books and the new e-books both have its own advantages due to different options of people, but in
my mind, I believe that the classic books is a better choice for readers than e-books despite of its new technology.

In twenty-first century, more and more people would like to study aboard, especially children. Most people
realized the education is an important part, and will benefit in the future of life. But there still have some
arguments exist, like people can get the same education in their own country. Although with my opinion, when
people studying abroad, they might be make more money later and have good personality.
Some people considered very expensive if people studying abroad. Because the rate of money is different,
like a student who is from China but studied in America, it must be expensive. But they might make more money
later. For example, my friend Cici came to America study when she was 15 years old. She had finished her
master degree for 2 years ago. About her ten years of education in the past, her family spent a lot of money
without doubt. But looked at her, she can speak excellent English, and she always is a good student like high
GPA in school. Until now, she has worked for a big company with good salary. So how do you think the value of
studying aboard? Even people spent more money, but it is worth. I would say that people will earn more than

Other people worried about their children's ability of live and social because their left home. They need to
do everything by themselves. This is a very big challenge for them. On the other hand, this is also good
experience in their life, they can learn and change more than people thought. Like my friend Cici, I felt that she

family didn't know. She had more confidence and good social in life. She had considered more about people's
thought in social. She wanted everyone be happy when they were together. Because when she came to a new
country, she got a lot of help. She appreciated and wish to help others in the future. So the experience of
studying aboard makes her grown and change. I think this is very benefit for her life, because the good

Fast food refers to the food that can be prepared and served within a very short period. It can also be defined as
food that has little nutrients or food that provides no nutritional value to the diet ; the food provides the body with
excess calories and fats. It is argued that fast food is a good way of saving time . However, it is not proper way for
nutrition since most of these foods have little nutritional value and high content of sugar calories and fat. There are many
cause and effect on the people lives.
First, life style is important for people. It was change from the past to now. Many people work for along time, and
they didnt have enough time to make food or to cook. Also, in the past, women were sitting at home and didnt work but
now the woman and the man are working. They spend a lot of time working. For instance, my mother works as teacher.
She spend between 8 hours-9 hours out of home. When she finishes her work, she feels very hungry in this moment. She
cant wait until she gets back at home and prepare the food. She choose the easy way to get food. Also, she think about
the time to prepare the food , cleaning after cooking , waiting food to get ready all of this make my mother to choose fast
food .
Secondly, the modern life makes people trying new food with the difference of cultures. Most people want to
know about the other cultures especially about their food. For example, when I hear there is a new restaurant open from
another cultures, I feel so excited to try it. In addition, the cost of food is not much as healthy food. Especially for young
people. Some time they don't have more many to buy health food. They go directly to buy fast food which costs less.
Also, advertising of fast food . It is amazing to lure people. For example, when we see advertisement of burgers
and how the cheese dissolve with the hot chicken, it boggles my mind like magic. Also, they dont make magic just for
your mind also your eyes lure with the color.
Even though, People think they save money and change life style, saving time , it's good but they are just thinking
at the moment as we can say in short term , and they forget the main factor and what will happen in the future when
accumulate sugars and fats in the body .
Firstly, fast food can cause obesity among people. An obese person has much fat in his/her body; obesity is not the
same as being overweight, that means having too much weight. Fast food has a lot of calories and sugar which
contributes to the increase in weight gain. A small amount of fast food is capable of increasing somebodys calorie intake
significantly. Consequently, a person that is used to eating fast food replaces eating habits that are healthy. Therefore,
people that take fast food are not likely to eat vegetables, milk, fruits and others (Schlosser, 2012).
Secondly, fast foods lead to heart diseases. People that eat fast food many times a week increase their risk of
succumbing to a cardiovascular disease by a bigger percentage. Fast food has a high level of saturated fats. These fats
can block some blood veins, arteries. Consequently, a heart attack develops due to elevated levels of cholesterol
(Johansen, 2012).
Lastly, fast food causes type 2 diabetes. Johansen (2012) asserts that diabetes is caused by a person living a poor
lifestyle, for instance, being overweight and not being physically active. Consuming frequent amounts of fast food leads to
obesity which then causes diabetes.
To sum up, fast food can be quite detrimental to an individuals body and
health. Therefore, people should not take fast food frequently as it can cause health
complications.

Argument Essay. Circus Animals.

Everyday in America or any country of the world, a circus come to town. The advertisements
promise safe, family fun, colorful costumes, and exotic animals performing tricks at the snap of their trainers
fingers; lions jumping through burning hoops, elephants balancing on their hind legs, and bears riding
bicycles. But what happens backstage is what many of the viewers doesnt know or didnt care. They cant
see the suffering of the animals that learned all those tricks in a very sad way.
I strongly believe that circus must have entertainment without animals, or if they are going to have it,
the animals should be treated in the right way. Furthermore I also believe that we should not use animal
labor in circuses because they need to be in their natural ambience, not locked in a jail just waiting for the
moment of the show.
Until now many organizations for animals rights like PETA, have been speaking loud for those
animals or any creature who had been suffering but without receiving any change. On the Internet people
can see some video footages of how the animals are treated and honestly, I think it is not fair.
The use of animals for entertainment dates back thousand years. Even ancient civilizations were
fascinated by exotic animals. Archeological evidence shows that lions were kept in cages in Macedonia as
far as back as 2000 B.C. Historians believe that wild animals were kept and shown off by rulers as a symbol

The Greeks were among the first to collect wild animals to learn about them. By contrast the Roman
Empire focused on the wild nature of the animals. The emperors entertained themselves and the public by
holding spectacles in which animals fought to the death with each other and with human gladiators. These
events took place in circular arenas called circuses. Most acts of the time focused on the ferocity of the
animals and the bravery of the trainer. Animals usually were beaten, starved, and occasionally had their

On the other hand, there are people and organizations that really care about this situation and they
are fighting for it, doing some advertisements that really impact the viewers. Besides that they have some

Circus animals have the right to be protected and treated humanely under the Animal Welfare Act.
Tigers naturally fear fire, but they are still forced to jump trough fire hoops in some circuses and have been
burned while doing so. Trainers use whips, tight collars, muzzles, electric prods, bull hooks and other painful

tools to force animals to perform. In more than thirty-five dangerous incidents since 2000, elephants have
bolted from circuses, run amok trough streets, crashed into buildings, attacked members of the public, and
killed and injured handlers. Eleven months a year they travel over long distances in box cars with no climate
control; sleeping, eating and defecating in the same cage. During the off-season, animals used in circuses
may be housed in small traveling crates. Such confinement has harmful psychological effects on them.

Why students drop out of high school or college.

success because of education. However , most students who drop out of high school or college are not a
success. As we see in the real life, there are two major causes that students dropout of high school and
terrible effects.

One reason, that students dropout of high school is money. As we know, every family has different
conditions. For example, someone has higher wealth, the other one has opposite. Most students who drop
out of school have the issue, which is money. Then, students want to have money their own. When students
make money, they prefer to keep making the money for their near future. Finally, they drop to school or
college because their mind thinks to make money to the near future.
As result, they might lose a lot of things in their future. For instance, they might have limited career
options. Because they dont have enough education to get the work that they want. However, we know
couple successful businessmen who dropped out to college including Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Mark
Zuckerberg, but we can count by hand how many they are. For them, money isnt the issue to drop out of the
college. They are smarter than other people, I think. Thats why their business succeeded. However, I know
a man who is my neighbor in Uzbekistan who dropped out his high school, and what he is doing now.
Reason, that dropped out the school, is money. His family was a poor conditions. Because only he had
worked that time for his family. His father was an alcoholic. The man didnt have choice not to drop out the
school. He had to make money for his little brother and parents too. He was a teennager at the time. Now, he
is an adult. Now, his family condition is better than before. When I talk with him, he always says that I
shouldnt have dropped out the school with grief because he doesnt have more choice to start his career.
Most works are limited for him. Most works ask high school or college diplomas to employment. We should
understand him too. If he couldnt have dropped out his high school he might not be who he is now. That was
his family issue. However , to study at the school or to learn new things always can help our future to make
our career. We should try not to drop out to high school or college.
Second reason,which is more common, is interesting to make money. People who are interested in
making money want to be an independent person. They dont have any money issues in their family. They
just want to have money of their own for anything that they want. I have a friend called Mishael from
Uruguay. He dropped out his high school. I had asked him why did you drop out your high school?. He said
that he just wants to be an independent person and make his own money just for his own stuff. His family
doesnt have any financial problem. If student who makes money while studying is more interested in making
money than studying, they might drop out. I had asked Mishael about effects to dropped out of high school.
He said that I lost my time. If he wants to study at any University in Uruguay, first, he has to finish his high
school then he can start to University, but he doesnt want because he is an adult now. He lost his time to
prefer to make money than to study when he was a teennager. Every time is valuable in our life. It doesnt
matter teennager young or adult. We should spend valuable things in our life.
In the end, students quit high school or college because of couple causes. As we see in real life, how
terrible are effects? Most of the causes are financial to make money to be independent. Government should
learn all situations about why they drop out of high school or college and give some help and possibility not
to drop out to high school. Also, we should spend our time to study at the school or college because the time
is never back again to do it.

Introduction

Where do you see chocolate? A lot of people in the U.S. would respond, Everywhere.
There are many chocolate products at the supermarkets. At the big supermarkets, such as
Kroger and Target, it is not uncommon that various chocolate products are lined-up in a
large section. In addition to the supermarkets, we can find many local chocolate shops in the
U.S. For example, there is GooGoo SHOP and Bang Candy in Nashville. This shows that
chocolate is one of the largest industries in the food market. In fact, according to statistics by
Niall McCarthy, The average American eats about 9.5 lbs of chocolate each year, this is
that the U.S is the 9th largest chocolate consuming country in the world (McCarthy). And, in
2017, it is estimated that chocolate sales in the U.S. will be about 22.4 billion U.S. dollars
(Chocolate sales). However, it is extremely difficult for a company to make popular chocolate
products in the great chocolate nation. Few products would survive in the market for a long
time. Then, what affects the sales of chocolate products? To raise only one factor is hard
because there are many to consider when producing a popular chocolate product. It is
certain that a company should understand the current trends in the chocolate industry.
Recently, trends in the confectionery market, especially chocolate, have been changing
rapidly. This research paper will investigate how confectionery companies make popular
chocolate products these days.

In order to find out how to produce successful chocolate items, confectionery companies
have long discussions and take various approaches because they cannot succeed with
simple ways. So, first, this research paper will discuss the possible factors to make popular
chocolate products, and second, consider the recent trends in the chocolate market.

There are a large number of flavors among chocolate products. It is not unusual that
customers cannot choose which item to buy since they find various kinds of chocolate at the
supermarket. The popular flavors are different between countries. When it comes to me, I
was surprised at the difference in the taste of chocolate in the U.S. and Japan when I ate
American chocolate for the first time. Therefore, the companies that sell chocolate products
in the U.S. have to understand the American preference of taste. According to the report by
FONAs Trend Team, the top 5 popular flavors of chocolate in North America are
Unflavor/Plain, Caramel, Almond, Peanut Butter, Hazelnut. This trend is
based on the data gathered from Jan. 2012 to Dec. 2015 (Watt). Compared with the top 5
flavors in the world, it is interesting that Peanut Butter is in the top 5 in North America.
Speaking of the U.S., there are various chocolate products with peanut butter at the
supermarkets and chocolate shops.

Chocolate is made of many ingredients; therefore, the nutrition of chocolate is really

influenced by what kinds of things are in it. And companies are supposed to list the nutrition
and ingredients of their products on the label so that customers could see what chocolate is
made of before buying it. In the case of GooGoo
CLUSTER, the nutrition facts, the ingredients, the
allergens, the companys information and the
description of the product are written on the label. It
has 240 calories per one piece (50g)! A lot of
customers probably check the nutrition of the product.
Thus, it could be said that nutrition has an effect on
the customers desire to buy. Each confectionery
company uses its own ingredients to make chocolate,
and local chocolate companies particularly tend to care about the nutrition of their products.
They use some natural and healthy ingredients, such as organic, gluten-free and fewer
calories. For instance, Colts, which is a local chocolate shop in Nashville, is introducing the
new chocolate that is made of all-natural peanut (edible Nashville). Moreover, most of
chocolate made by local shops is handmade. On the other hand, chocolate produced by
large companies is factory-made for efficient production. It depends how much people care
about nutrition when they eat chocolate.

A brand would be one factor in the big sales of chocolate products. The major
confectionery companies have some big-name products known
by a lot of people. Mars is famous for M&Ms, Snickers and
Twix. Hersheys and Cadbury are also well-known confectionery
companies in the U.S. They use the companys names as the
names of their products to utilize the value of their brand.
Imagine that two companies, one is a well-known and another is
nameless, introduced new chocolate products respectively. They are similar to each other
and the same price. Which is bought more in the market? It could be assumed that many
more people choose chocolate from the famous company rather than the unknown one. It is
because the famous company has a good reputation and consumer confidence that have
been accumulating over time. Accordingly, people tend to be influenced by the companys
brand power when shopping.

d) Price

Naturally enough, people care about the cost of the product except for those who are
rich and indifferent to price. If the quality is the same, the cheaper the better; however,
companies have to consider their profits as well as customers. Therefore, it is significant for
companies to set the price that meets both the customers satisfaction and the companys
gain. Generally, high-quality chocolate is more expensive than normal chocolate because it
takes much time and money to make. For example, a milk chocolate bar produced by
Hersheys, Lindt and Equal Exchange is, respectively, sold at $1.50, $2.50 and $3.99 (at a

characters. For example, M&Ms chocolate is famous for its character that looks like
chocolate and has a face, arms and legs. Besides, Reeses uses bright colors on the
package, which is covered with orange and has the
yellow logo. These examples show that an outstanding
appearance can catch customers attention. In addition
to appearance, the size and form of products vary
among the same kind of chocolate, like a bar, a family pack, a fun size and bites. When it
comes to Snickers, it has many different types of items, or the regular Snickers, the Snickers
Mini, the Snickers Bites and so on. Each customer probably chooses a type in accordance to
his/her situation where he/she eats chocolate. In the case of a mother, she would pick up a
family pack to eat with her family, while an office worker might prefer a compact size
because it is so easy to carry that he/she can eat it whenever and wherever he/she wants.
Accordingly, confectionery companies have to make chocolate products that attract the
customers attention and meet their needs.

Advertising is a great means to draw the peoples attention. There are many kinds of

advertising forms, like TV, a magazine, a flier, a billboard and the Internet. People may
frequently see such advertisements in many places. Advertising is the most convenient way
for companies to introduce their products to customers. Among the various ways of
advertising, a TV commercial is very influential. One study in Australia shows that food

companies, which include chocolate and confectionery, use persuasive marketing skills with
TV commercials. They are more likely to advertise their products during the childrens peak
viewing time and popular programs. Moreover, they often use cartoons and spokescharacters because this strategy can make children recognize their products and have
positive attitude toward them. And, in the U.S., similar findings about TV advertisement have
been reported (Flood et al.). As stated above, companies try to attract as many customers
as possible by using various and unique ways of advertising.

III. Recent trends in the chocolate market

a)

Price and Quality

There is the relation between price and quality. It cannot be said unconditionally, but the

higher the quality of a chocolate product, the more expensive it is because making a highquality chocolate needs costly ingredients and elaborate steps. Nevertheless, people tend to
put emphasis on quality over price these days. One factor that has brought this tendency is
premiumization, or demand for moments of happiness (Morris, 3). Many consumers seek
chocolate as a daily luxury that offers a delightful moment, not as just a product (7).
Especially, women have become to eat premium chocolate in order to relieve the stress in
their daily lives (Premium Chocolate). Considering this trend, some confectionery
companies have put effort into producing high-quality and delicious, or premium chocolate.
In short, the demand for quality has grown over price.

b)

Taste and Nutrition

Good taste is essential for people when eating chocolate. The reason why they eat

chocolate willingly is that it is delicious. As mentioned in the introduction, American people

routinely eat much chocolate. However, as the issue of obesity is getting more serious in the
U.S., many people have worried about their health. They often check the nutrition of the
products carefully. As a result of increasing health-conscious consumers, dark chocolate has
become preferred more than before because they think that it is beneficial for their health

Morris, 8). In fact, dark chocolate can prevent or delay certain types of disease and keep
people looking and feeling younger (Chocolate Industry). According to the data by National
Confectioners Association, in the U.S., the sales of dark chocolate products grew 8% in
2014 over 2013 (Chocolate Industry). Thus, people would require companies to make
chocolate products that are not only delicious but also healthy.

Portion and Packaging

In recent years, a new type of chocolate has started to appear in the market. These are

the bite-sized chocolate items. The bite-sized candy sub category has exploded, as
consumers look for the full taste experience of their favorite candy bar in a smaller portion.
Its easy to share, and the resealable pouch makes it possible to eat some now and save
some for later, says Hank Izzo, v.p., research & development, Mars Chocolate North
America (qtd in Lindell). Thanks to the bite-sized chocolate, people can eat chocolate easily
at any time and place. And, personally, the most wonderful thing is that people could share
not only chocolate but also happiness with their family and friends. In addition to the new
type of portion, companies try to devise the packaging. They put a description about the
products and an actual size picture on the label so that customers can easily image the
shape and taste of the products.

d) Advertising
There are many ways to advertise chocolate products. Among them, advertising with
SNS, like Facebook and Twitter, has been increasing rapidly in these days. A lot of
confectionery companies have SNS pages to promote their products. In the case of
Cadbury, it has separate Facebook pages for each of its most popular products, including
Dairy Milk, Wispa, Crme Egg, Bourneville and Hot Chocolate (qtd in Moth). Furthermore,
some companies run a promotional campaign that is to set up a goal of the number of likes
and celebrate when a total of likes reaches them. Through a fun activity, companies can
spread their chocolate products very quickly. This new advertising using SNS was an
unimaginable way previously; still, it is usual and one of the most influential means to attract
a customers attention.

IV. Conclusion
To sum up, confectionery companies need to correctly grasp factors to make popular
chocolate products and understand the recent trends in the market. As some examples
given above, the companies that have popular chocolate products use the ideal marketing
strategies. It is why they have succeeded in the competitive market. In my opinion, premium
and healthy chocolate will be in high-demand from now on. Because people can find plenty
of chocolate in many places, they are getting particular about chocolate. They are not
satisfied with the simple chocolate. So, confectionery companies must be required to make
high-quality and special chocolate. Nowadays, artisan chocolate, which is made carefully by
skilled patissiers, has caught a great deal of attention from consumers. Therefore, the large
confectionery companies have a stable market share; while, artisan chocolate companies,
such as high-quality companies and small local shops, will be more and more popular in the
future. Besides, the clever advertising is also important for the chocolate marketing. SNS is
fashionable now. But it is difficult for companies to know how long the market trends will
continue in the future because of the rapid change. They need an exact analysis of the
chocolate market trends to take a great advantage of advertising. In conclusion,
confectionery companies should deeply understand the customers needs along with the
skilled marketing strategies and make chocolate products that fill peoples lives with
satisfaction and happiness.
