NI Sensors Lab

The NI Sensors Lab provides students and researchers with fundamental knowledge on the
use of electrical sensors and instruments to make meaningful measurements in mechanical
and electrical systems. The Lab provides an introduction to the following:

Sensors used in measuring displacement, temperature, flow rate, pressure, strain, and
?
fuel-cell systems

Amplifiers and other signal conditioners used to process signals from Sensors
?

The Lab comprises of NI SCXI, an signal conditioning platform which provides interface to
different sensors. Using the SCXI modules different sensor interfacing fundamentals
including single ended connection, ground wiring, amplification, sensor excitation,
impedance matching, linearity, cold junction compensation, noise, SNR and CMRR can be
studied.
