FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 9, 2010

The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in


locating a suspect wanted in connection with two robberies which occurred on
6/8/10.

Jason Lucas Peterson 22 was identified as the individual in the attached


surveillance photos distributed to the public on 6/8/10.

Peterson is described as a Black male 22, 5’11” tall, 190 pounds, having short
brown hair and brown eyes. He is wanted for two counts of robbery.

The first robbery took place on 6/8/10, at about 1:15 p.m., at J’s Market, 1605
South H Street. Peterson entered and displayed a firearm but fled when the
alarm was activated.
The second robbery took place on 6/8/10, at 2:54 p.m., at Chester Discount
Clothing, 507 Chester Avenue wherein the Peterson attempted to steal clothes
but was locked in by the employees to prevent the theft, however, he displayed
a handgun and demanded exit.

Anyone with information regarding whereabouts of Peterson is urged to call


Detective Clayton Madden at 326-3953.
