La Facultad de Ingeniería y Tecnología de la UM Presente en el Primer Congreso de

Maestros de la DIA y en GiEN 2009
El Prof. Harvey Alférez, docente y director del Departamento de Investigación de la Facultad de
Ingeniería y Tecnología de la Universidad de Montemorelos, presentó el “Marco de Integración
Tecnológica” en el Primer Congreso de Maestros de la DIA (http://cancun09.interamerica.org/seminarios-
universitarios).

Además, el Prof. Alférez fue invitado por la Asociación General para exponer en el foro conocido como
Red Global de Evangelismo por Internet (GIEN, por sus siglas en inglés), celebrado en Orlando, Florida
(Estados Unidos), los días 9 al 12 de septiembre (http://gien.adventist.org/schedule.html#guestlist). En su
conferencia, titulada “El poder del software libre y de código abierto”, el profesor Alférez promovió la
utilización e implementación de este tipo de software en proyectos de integración tecnológica que
beneficien a la Iglesia Adventista a nivel mundial.

Participation of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Montemorelos

University at the First IAD's Teachers Congress and GiEN 2009
Prof. Harvey Alferez, director of the Research Department at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology,
Montemorelos University, gave a presentation entitled “A Framework for IT Integration” at the first Inter-
American Division Teachers Congress (http://cancun09.interamerica.org/seminarios-universitarios).

Also, Prof. Alferez was invited by the General Conference as a presenter at the Global Internet
Evangelism Network (GiEN 2009), Orlando, FL, September 9-12
(http://gien.adventist.org/schedule.html#guestlist). In his presentation entitled “The Power of Free and
Open Source software”, Prof. Alferez promoted the usage and implementation of these kinds of software
in technology integration projects to benefit the Adventist Church worldwide.

The Bulletin of Technology Projects and Activities is an initiative of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Montemorelos University, Mexico. In its
moment, it is going to be formally presented to the Education Department of the Inter-American Division. For the meanwhile, Montemorelos University has
the unique and exclusive responsibility for publishing research projects and technology news.

The intention with our bulletin is to invite other higher education institutions in our Inter-American Division to join efforts in the development of information
